A beautiful version of this classic tango. Charming images of tango dancers too.

I just love this old tango and Victor Young's brilliant arrangement. I'm also proud of the fact that although he was born in Chicago (which at the time was a quarter Polish city due to the huge emigration from Poland at the turn of the 20th century), he was so well educated in Warsaw that he became one of the greatest film composers ever. And his tune "Around The World in 80 Days" has remained a great and beautiful tune forever. Stay well, Dave :-)

To on skomponował słynny temat z "W 80 dni dookoła świata " z Shirley McLaine i Nivenem. Oto kolejny światowy muzyk, z korzeniami w Polsce.

Lovely piece of music. Dziękuję bardzo for sharing dear Grzegorz!!

It is indeed a gorgeous tango, perhaps the most passionate of all in its time. And Victor Young plays the way it SHOULD be played: with vigour and nostalgia in one. Regards 🙂

@@240252 i hadn't heard this version. But it is indeed a beautiful one. Have you heard the sung version with Tita Merelo's voice? I understand you particularly appreciate the music instead, but if you haven't yet (I assume you must have at some point), I recommend You give that one a listen. Take care and thanks again for sharing such lovely music

@@marioneta32 I saw Tita's performance in a vintage b/w movie, it's available in YT. She sings it in a very expressive acting style. It's certainly original and interesting, but I prefer sharp instrumental versions of this tango, maybe with only the chorus. Thank you and regards :-)

This tango was delightful and Victor Young appears to be even more versatile than I thought. This is notably more recent than what you usually post, but since it directly refers to the grand prewar tradition, this is not at all out of place on your channel :-)

...And it refers also to a great movie "Valentino" which was released in 1951. With that fantastic tango scene by Anthony Dexter as Rudolph and Patricia Medina. Dexter indeed looks like Valentino's twin brother! kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfGo5Sknrd9fpI

@@240252 Thank you very much for pointing out, Grzegorz! You are right, Dexter's resemblance is stunning.
