Nope, doesn't belong there. It's been dropped at sometime.

If it was dropped it would be dented inward . That is a result of using pliers to way over tighten the wing nut on the burner frame floor which caused it to pull the top of the fount upwards . Either missing or or threaded all the way down the stop-nut that's underneath the frame base.

That's a combination of both. The ring in the top of the fount is down and the bung maybe is up too. I don't think we'll ever know for sure what happened to cause that. But to fix it the ring has to come up

​@fyrfyter1035 agreed, way over-tightened and pulled the fount up. They're very fragile in that area
