It really is beholden on the credit card receiver to check their bank statements and bring up any fraudulent charges with their bank. As for the store, if it's anything like Amazon Go then it's using facial recognition technology to tie your face to your credit card number on file.

It has you scan the product with your phone, and once you leave, charges you. It appears there are two doors, both of which can only open if you have the app on your phone. When you leave, it may not let you leave the second door if the card does not work.
