Hi Pete, our small group is doing the Prayer Course ll. And doing Lectio 365, for which I cannot thank you and the team enough. Thank you. I have also started to read 'God on mute'. I began to think that if God answered all of our prayers, perhaps we would see many, many people come into God's Kingdom but it would be for his handouts, the 'trouble free' life we had and everything in the garden would be rosy. And we all would simply take this great magnificent God, who has the power to singlehandedly scrunch the whole of the cosmos up and throw it away and start again, we would treat him as a sugar daddy and have no respect for him at all. The cross would be pointless and relationally empty.

love this session, thankyou. I have a child who has struggled health wise and a pastor said it was because there was sin in the family!!!!!! God was punishing us early. I know Abba has the plan and I wait for Him. God has never left us alone we go through the downs with Him!

How could anyone say Sammys brain tumour from God? God is a God of love. We need to know his character. Love pours from him to us. Is cancer a gift from God. It causes so much angst. Id much rather trust and rest in God's love and grace for me.

Some reasons for Unanswered prayers (David Guzik) · Not abiding in Jesus (John 15:7). · Unbelief (Matthew 17:20-21). · Failure to fast (Matthew 17:21). · Husband not honoring his wife (1 Peter 3:7). · Not asking (James 4:2). · Selfish praying (James 4:3). · Disobedience (1 John 3:22). · Not praying in God’s will (1 John 5:14-15). · Unconfessed sin (James 5:16). · Cold, passionless prayer (James 5:16-18; 2 Kings 20:5). · Prayerlessness or a lack of persistence in prayer (Luke 18:1-7; Psalm 55:17). · Sin against others (Matthew 5:23-24). · Lack of unity (Matthew 18:19). · Not praying in the name of Jesus (John 14:13-14). · Pride (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5, Proverbs 3:34). · Lying and deceitfulness (Psalm 17:1). · Lack of Bible reading and Bible teaching (Proverbs 28:9). · Trusting in the length or the form of prayer (Matthew 6:7).
