A French Breitling for $2000? Yema Navygraf Watch Review

Yema’s have intrigued me for years and I’ve seen the evolution of their product range with in-house movements and continual limited editions but I just can’t get my head around “pulling the trigger” in buying one. Well done & thank you Oleg, you’ve reinforced my apprehension.

Yema makes some good watches, I have their Yema Classic 017 that looks very much like a Junghans Maxbill, but it’s not a chrono, but has two chrono like dials for seconds and power reserve

I own a large number of chronographs, a few are quartz- I have some Timex thing, a Wenger, and have or had a Pulsar, and I have a large number of manual winders that are Swiss, Russian, or Chinese, but I have a few automatics. I have several (3 or 4, I don’t think any currently run- I picked them up 20 years ago for $5-10 each) Seiko 6139s, but just one Swiss. That watch is a Ebel 1911 Sport Chronograph with an 18k solid case that was modified to accommodate standard spring bars (it originally had straps that would be screwed in from behind with screws). This is the first generation of that model, and it runs a 31-jewel Zenith caliber 400 “El Primero”. I paid $4k for it, serviced, running basically bang on, with a 1-year warranty, last July I think. This Yema is a pretty watch, but for double the price I can get what I have in gold, or for less than the Yema I can get it in stainless. And it is somewhat waterproof.

I like it but needs way less high polish. Would have been nicer with brushed sides and lugs and just a high polish chamfer. Another option at this price would be the longines hydroconquest chrono. Owned one a couple of years ago and it was built like a tank and finishing was excellent.

Dude it's a 2k Yema beater , you can brush the sides yourself with a scotch brite pad , you'll NEVER resell it , it'll end up in a landfill or rusting away in one of your cupboards anyway .....The secret of it being 2k is standardized production process .....You're coming down on it like the odd guy complaining about his Ford model T being black

When I look at the dial, the printing of Yema and Automatic are on slightly different level and just mess up the dial. Could have done without the word automatic under the day date window.

I quite like these models, but I cannot find them in Yema's official website. Are they discontinued?

I'd like to start a watch company in Finland, just so that I could have a Day/Date complication using the Finnish days of the week: MAN - TII - KES - TOR - PER - LAU - SUN

Nice review, but I would stay away from Yema personally. Have heard some horror stories about their QC and following that their customer support. Cheers.

I was considering this chronograph but the design seems unbalanced now that I've seeing it in a real setting. The three sub dials look to small and the Yema logo placed awkwardly next to the chronograph type looks...awkward. I want to like this watch but overall presentation just seems off to me. The high polish isn't off putting...not my thing but I wouldn't mind it.

Yup. I got Breitling Avenger 43 for less than two grand. Still under warranty, which I needed when I snapped the crown stem. All fixed, serviced and polished…or this company with dodgy after sales.
