It’s what happened in 2007. Defaults on mortgages were going up yet the prices on the mortgage bonds were going up. The banks were artificially keeping things high until they were able to dump the bonds, THEN allowed the price to fall. Once all the gold/silver is gone, THEN the price will be allowed to go up.

This is normal. If India is losing faith and trust in the US, anything measured in dollars that they buy is showing us the loss of purchasing power due to loss of faith and trust. The actions India is taking, opens it to US Banking sanctions. What do you buy if you’re trying to get rid of your dollars really fast?

I cannot handle any more crying about supply/demand for silver. None of it matters and never will. It will only matter when it all ends, which it will, but probably not for a while. Unlimited paper never ends until the paper ends.

I think you are wrong. The main exchanges including Shanghai's plus COMEX and LBMA are recording strong drawdowns in inventory. When that inventory gets close to zero and players stand for delivery of physical and that physical is not available the the exchange will likely be forced to invoke force majeure which will undeniably trigger huge rises in metal price. This argument applies to gold and silver.

The world needs Silver more then Gold, the Far East countries are real smart. There buying with two hands an both feet, at some point soon the riggers will throw in the towel. Silver will break $50 dollars and then ??? but will the Government decide to Nationalize Silver. Mexico will and other Silver producing countries to do likewise. Silver will be the commodity of a lifetime. Make sure you own some and hold it.

They needed that much silver in the 40ties to enrich the "Material" for the Manhatten Project. It doesn't have to be "much more" today. Of course the Military uses much much Silver for their Weaponry, but it is hard to quantify today.

Pension funds also invest heavily in commercial real estate. I’ve seen big write-downs in large commercial buildings, up to 90%. These companies dumping their pension plans are probably trying to get out of their unrealized losses.

AIG wasn't a reinsurer. It was a varied multi line insurer. It's downfall was in credit default swaps, an insurance-like product that protects buyers from bond defaults.

In 2008 AIG could not make good on a bet w/Goldman Sachs on a derivative relating to mortage defaults. Of course, the Sec of Treasury at the time was an x-CEO of Golden Slacks and you and I got to make good on that bet. George Carlin was right. It is one big club, and YOU ain't in it. Sooner or later it will happen again. The question is - will that time be the last time. Who knows.

Most financial advisers are not old enough to remember previous economic calamities and stick to their scripts. Equities fell in 1987, 1992, 1997, 2007, and house price declines in 1970's, 1980's, 1995, and 2008 were equally dire. History has a habit of repeating itself and everything looks very over valued. Gold and silver bought at the right prices might be a safer place at this time.

If you want to eliminate deficit you have to take it out of the vaults... whatelse ... If the vaults are finally empty and there is still a defict the chance to deliver is : ZERO and then the market will not run but explode ..... in addition all the million ounces in paper contracts will be worthless ( unless paid out in fiat) and so many people who think they hold and IOU for Silver will discover what they get ... fiat - nothing more - nothing less

I do not practice in the US but many companies do find they cannot handle ghe investmentscin fluctuating times. The insurerance/annuity companies have a larger poll of assets so larger access to investment options. Pensions are generally not cashable once in payment so those long term treasuries don't havs a "bank run" demanding cash, with forced liquidation. They can be held to maturity. And there is a big risk premium charges to the company moving the assets out. BTW a major reason for public companies moving are also the FASB acvounting rules that requires large expense charges diminishing shareholder equity. Taking the buyout, often means an unsophisticated person is taking on all the risk. If your life expectancy is not high due to injury or sickness that buyout may be good.
