Big thx to James and Nigel. So much fun. Love it! This night I will have dream: Nigel Danson, James Popsys and Henry Turner... my beloved three photo mountaineers on the top of a fell, all struggeling with a f..... nifty fifty ;-). But seriously, a few collabs over the year would enhance every envolved person´s channel. Brilliant idea Nigel.

Great to see the challenge coming from one of my favourite photography spots in Snowdonia. Like Nigel, I won't name the location. I use my 70-200 a lot up there and quite a bit at full stretch. For me, Nigel, you win
@jabezhane3 жыл бұрын
70-200mm is the way to go IMO. I have around a dozen lenses but now I reach for the 70-200mm most of the time.

Everyone who has a mirrorless should get themselves a vintage 135mm manual prime. They're ultra cheap (under £50), are great fun, offer amazing image quality and teach you so much about using longer focal length.

Absolutely agree with you in challenging ourselves with restricting focal length. I went out with a 24mm prime and absolutely regretted my decision while shooting with it on top of a hill thought I was missing out on all the details in sky and clouds but was pleasantly surprised to find out later looking at them in Lightroom that I got some really lovely wide shots that I may have never thought of. Thank you for posting such informative and encouraging videos all the time. Will make sure that I tag you on Instagram in the 24mm photos that I took yesterday. Hoping for a quick feedback!!

Nigel, I would love to see a video of your studio, lighting, monitor calibration, etc. Morten Rustad recently had a video on the Andyax channel about setting up a studio room with grey walls, desk, and carpet, and specific lighting to help with getting the right colour grading. May I suggest a great location in Cornwall, if you next visit - Carn Brae/Carn Marth, using as many variety of lenses on the same scene, some of the highest and widest landscape vistas in Cornwall where both coasts are visible from the same spot (weather permitting). It’s an amazing ‘vista smorgasbord’. You could fill a camera card in one day, especially taking a variety of lenses!

Thank you, both Nigel and James, for creating an Interesting video. Clever idea, each shooting with a different length lens and only that lens. I did enjoy the ‘restrictiveness’ of the challenge. Focuses the mind, bringing frustration and joy in equal parts, I’m sure! Now to check out the images! Looking forward seeing the very different results. I loved the video of the vertical rain cloud coming down to Earth and moving across the scene.
