I have practised taichi for a few years but watch you daily at least once. It is so graceful like a babbling steam. There is no way those grand masters you recently interviewed came even close. Taichi is not trying to beat up the other guy, s 44-magnum does a better job. Taichi is an exploration into harmony and grace and resonance with the Universe. You are the best!

She is China's taichi princess! Soft in style, as well graceful, and charming as a sweet young lady. She is also a professor at Beijing Sports University, cradle for China's top athletes!

Taichi is also life and life style. Look at Miss Chiou's soft flow, almost effortless and carefree, in which chi and movement harmonize into a breeze-like rhythmic gentle wave after wave. She is serene but not tense, concentrating but relaxed. This is how our lives should be. I observe her daily! I become a better person. She is indeed a good teacher!

I do taichi each morning at 4. Because I practise breathing from the heals to the top of the head and then send the chi from front to the toes, my movement is really slow. Chiou's style is really admirable. She also won a world taichi championship. Currently, she teaches at Beijing Sports University.

Flow in fluence; she is one of the best. She was in Kaushuing, Taiwan in the World martial art games. It was in Tsoying near the navy harbor. I was there. . She has talent and hard training. She is pretty as well.

@tonictai I do not see any problem. That happens when Chiou was doing "caressing the bird's tail". Forces from toe to finger with waist manuvering the delicate movements which are indeed graceful and accurate!

Hello. Very nice demonstration. One (simple) question: is the breathing in sync with the movements ? A movement going outward would be exhale and a movement going inward would be inhale ?

Do not agree with you. Taichi deals on a higher level with flow and harmony between chi and movement. She does that wonderfully, flowing lightly and with liquidity. The core of taichi lies in "sung" or "absolute relaxation" so that chi can follow and penetrate and movements appear effortless, both of which she excels. I can not tolerate the Chen taichi where punches and elbows are tossed in quick sequence. That violates the principle of taichi. Taichi strength lies in the soft flexibility.

You probably can. I think you can but you need to stretch a lot. If you are muscular, you need more stretching. Other than lowering down and lifting legs, there is no reason you can not do it. Many good Taichi master are over 80's!

Taichi chuan is a more profound sense is not all for defense. It could be compared as the alphabets which outlines the physical and mental discipline for martial art. In the Monk's Fist, Monkey Chuan, Tonlong Chuan, among others, taichi discipline is not directly relevant. The chi flow guided by the measured movements in taichi boosts our cardiovascular and circulatory systems and thus improves our health and emotional status quo. Self-defense is subset to taichi without one-one correspondance.
