24v UTV ride on gearbox fix and motor upgrades

upgraded the motor on the 24volt utv ride on. also replaced the gear box and the gear that normally breaks in the gear box with a 3d printed one I made. here are some links to the stuff I used for reference. find the cheapest version they are all the same.

Nice. Make sure you print in carbon fiber nylon. All other materials will fall apart right away. Maybe just maybe ABS would work.

Stupid question but do I need to up the motors if I am upping the battery to get increased speed? Also what battery do you recommend

My 11 - and 5 year old ride around in it perfect. I'd say the 11 year old is at the edge. I'd say any kid over 4 and a half feet would want something different

This is a dumb question but you have to change the motors if you're upping the battery to increase the speed correct? Also if you're upping the battery can you link the battery you purchased? Do I need to do anything different with the battery install for the updated 20AH hour or whatever it is?

I think I have the battery link in the comments somewhere. But any on sale universal 12-volt batteries from Amazon will work. Just find the highest amp hour you can. If you are upgrading the voltage as well, it would be wise to upgrade the motors as well. Check out ML toys they have upgrade motors for this specific vehicle.

My son has the same one and today it just will not move. The motor works though when you step on the gas and it is fully charged. So I am thinking the gears just became stripped? How gear boxes does this thing have? Should I be checking every tire or just one?

There is 2 gear boxes. I believe I have a link to the ebay ones I got in the discription or in a comment somewhere here. They might not be available from the exact seller but just search like items. Should be about $40-$70 for the entire gear box with motor. The price fluctuates alot.

@@igolfandimakestuff2629 Thank you! I will check it out. The motors are still working so would you think I just need the gears? I am reading a lot of comments about how the wires are not the same for the "new motor" and I have no solder gun. gear boxes are on the back tires i take it?

For some reason, all the gearboxes I have found come with a motor. If yours still work, just remove the motor and save the new one

The gears get stripped out really easy when the kids ride around the land alot. So I just wanted to get a bit better motors in it and start printing my own gears so I don't need to buy an entire gearbox every time one breaks

@@igolfandimakestuff2629 this is good to know! Ours was still under warranty, so they are sending me new parts. We’re hoping that what they send us is what is the problem. The back left tire doesn’t spin. Do you sale your gear things you print? I don’t have a 3D printer….

I would assume it's the same gear that was stripped out in mine. Getting the entire gearbox with motor is fairly cheap. I think I linked the gear box in my video. And it's easy to fix if your just doing the gearbox swap

So my car quit running. The lights and noise still come on when i charge the battery it automatically turns green on the charger like its charged but when i hit the oedal it does nothing. Anyone else had this problem?

It's very likely you need a new battery.

@bm3211 Yes, the noise comes from 2 aa batteries in the stearing wheel. And lights require so little power to work so they could still be on while the battery does not have enough juice to move the car

How did you get the back wheel off? The nut keeps spinning around without losing up.

You need to hold the entire shaft and that will allow you to take the nut off.

Yes I am working on making them stronger and stronger but I do have 2 more available now of the small gears. That should work
