OMG is that shady build quality and overall circuit design. There are literally better designs in the book I held in the camera ;-)
@natb912113 күн бұрын
I saw the video being referenced, and I have designed and worked on audio equipment. The mistake Mark made was removing the cover and exposing the joke inside for which some people have paid 25K. This obviously raised the ire of the manufacturer. YT is, typically, way out of line going along with such nonsense. There is no valid reason for the strike against Mark - all he did was open up the amp and repair it. And, it probably cost more to do that than the amp is ACTUALLY worth.
@jamesplotkin467410 күн бұрын
It was the manufacturer who sent the device to Mark and they knew he showed his work on KZbin, but still gave him shix.

I saw this video on Mark's channel before it was deleted. I feel like I saw the Beatles play live. There's been a great response to the appalling copyright strike.

🫶 Right to Repair - Schematics & Boardviews!🖖
@twocentman11 күн бұрын
Right to repair yes. Schematics no. Do you really think that development takes a view days ? In what world are you living. Cheers.
@MoreReneRebe11 күн бұрын
@twocentman of course schematics for repair. They mostly use orig vendor reference examples anyway. Do you really think not publishing schematics stops competitors reversing it when just reusing IC databook examples is cheaper ?
@ParabolicLabs10 күн бұрын
@@twocentman I can reverse engineer a pretty complex board into schematics in less than a day and I'm not even an EE. Schematics are not the problem you think they are.

The original video was uploaded to Odysee and in the mean time dozens of times to YT again. Streisand effect in action 😀
@lordofelectrons451311 күн бұрын
I saw this video this guy knows electronics and knows what he is doing. He on his own worked out the schematic diagram of the equipment and made his own original artwork. The one and only reason the manufacture of the pre-amp is attacking this guy is because he exposed that it is rather dodgy. The equipment is in no way worth the price.
@kenp90739 күн бұрын
This video has now been re-upload across YT and other platforms. Louis Rossman has a dare out to this "manufacturer." Mark is an amazing electronics repair tech. This "manufacturer" days are numbered. Streisand effect in high gear.

I wouldn’t call that high-end. The piece of crap he repaired was actually just overpriced. Not high-end

Agreed 💯 the book I recommend has more high end designs 🖖

@@MoreReneRebe Tom's design was nothing special, and the implementation very clumsy. He's just trying to hide - Look at the inside of his Linear A amplifier, it's the same tangled mess, and the same plastic standoff, in the same hideous case as the PSU.

back in the 80s you could still get nation semi LH0066/LH0033 op-amps with slew rates in the 6,000/1,500V per uS - excellent things to hook ADC/DACs to…
@MartinPGrindrod11 күн бұрын
I seem to remember LH0032 was the opamp and wasn't LH0033 a unity gain power output stage? They were amazing devices and quite large package as they dissipated a lot of heat. They were mil spec approved parts which is where I came across them - and used them for video processing

They will never beleive that making cable is huge dirty industrial scale work. A cable is made in the lengths of kilometers at a time. To make a cable that costs more than $0.20 a meter is just not viable. That $5000 a meter speaker cable probably was originally designed for a CAT scanner at pennies a meter in China or Poland. These little Audiophile companies do not have huge smelting works and metalurgists working away behind the office.

I have always been able to hear the difference between different brand phono stages on modest systems. Good hearing is like eyesight - not everyone has 20/20 vision. If you can't hear differences then please don't make the assumption that everyone else is the same - High end audio is obviously a complete waste of money for those who only hear massive differences.

Well done mess (if it is one) I'd say, but regardless, in my eyes you can still have a script and get quite off track/have that script itself be quite all over the place. Certainly helps but even written stuff (such as this comment I'm posting for example) get quite redundant or lack clear flow in terms of one idea to the next or organization, I'm personally hoping I get it right myself one day since even with multiple lookovers in the moment I read something back a few hours later to see how it actually was... yeah.
