That sounds like an exciting plan! Consider checking out places like Carmel-by-the-Sea or Santa Barbara for a relaxed atmosphere close to the ocean!

Not a terrible list, albeit a little misleading and convoluted at times (eg. No one goes to Coco Island to surf), but having been to (or lived) in all but 4 of these places, not bad.

La Fortuna and Arenal basically have the same stuff very different spots on the list. But SJ #1 I'm not sure I'd agree with that.
