I found this MAL via Ashley and am excited to join with a cast on of Briar & Bramble sweater by boylandknitworks. I was inspired at Rhinebeck last year with the one Katie has as a sample in Green Mtn Spinnery and embroidered giant rudbeckia and coneflowers on the shoulder. Cheers

Right now I’m doing Helen Stewart’s 24 Birds mystery knit a long. It’s feeling very botanical and organic. I’m knitting it in shades of green, so that may be a part of it too. I do love a good floral inspired design.

Oh what a treat that mystery knit along must be!! Helen Stewart is an absolute artist. I agree~ floral inspired designs are lovely, I do love colowork too (I have lots of plans for the treasured minis you gifted me in this knit along ;) . Sending warm wishes from across the pond, dear Beate!

I will join Gabriella. Coincidentally I've been searching for a pattern for an adult ladies, open front waistcoat in a DK or heavier weight yarn. It's for a birthday present for October and my friend wanted some flowers on the front panels. The colour will be 'natural' or beige. Should I find a pattern or make one up.... this will be my first knit.... I might try another after that. Best wishes on the knit along 😘🧶

I'm so glad that I came across your youtube channel! I just adore all things botanical and nature-inspired. I can't agree with you more about Teti and Ailbiona's designs, I have so many of theirs favourited! Some others that came to mind that you might like to see are the Baerlic Vest by Sarah Pope, Fields of Gold and Primaveral by Isabella Clark and quite a few designs by Marzena Kołaczek. Happy botanical knitting!

So many lovely botanical themed tops! I may have to try my hand at the Vine Top and possibly the Tulip sweater and mini Tulip. I have some botanical themed sock patterns that I’ve been wanting to cast on and a floral crochet tee. seems like May will be the perfect month to start! I am super excited you’re doing a MAL and can’t wait to see all the lovely designs everyone makes.

What a lovely list! Definitely bookmarking a few of those gorgeous designs 💚 I knit the Provence Top by Ekaterina Vorobeva in the past and I absolutely loved it! That's why I just cast on her Provence Blouse in a cotton merino blend to hopefully get a light spring/summer pullover. I just adore the lavender design of the lace!

Dear Gabriella, what a fun idea with the make along! I am not very much into botanical designs particularly, but I have had an own fall cardigan design in mind for quite some time that would fit this theme, so I might join in later in the year😊 for me it‘s always more fun to join knit and make alongs of people I follow and „know“ than any random ones, so I would really like to take part 😇 When it comes to other designers that have botanical patterns, immediately Arne and Carlos came to my mind. They have a lot of interior designs (throws, pillows), colws, mittens and of course also garments with floral / botanical themes. And a lot of the garments are either unisex or male designs. I noticed that most of the patterns with botanical motifs are very feminine (and in general a lot of patterns are). So I thought, I wanted to mention Arne and Carlos, in case someone would like to make a less feminine pattern, as e.g. the Scrapbook cardigan or the Synnove jumper (but there are many many more, some very abstract and geometric ones as well, as e.g the Vegard and the Vidar jumper) 😊 I am really looking forward to you showing us the process of the Rusty cardigan. I just did steeking for the first time with my Une genser. I was a bit scary before I started, but the process itself was actually very easy and not scary at all 😃 I wish you a nice spring time and looking forward to the next episode already😊

I can’t wait to join this make along! The topic is so inspiring. But also what instantly comes to mind is that Pom Pom issue 28 is The Botanical issue for some more inspiration. The Vivarium Sweater from there might just be calling my name. 🌿

As I'll have a whole year anyway, let's jump in! I'm not sure if I'll be able to start at May 1st, unless I count that April cardigan because it's green and will have pink floral buttons xD I love botanicals, so even worst case this is something to massively look forward too when my gift knits and the cardigan are done. (Never thought I'd be one of those people making gift knits, but at least it's with good reason and for the bestest of people)

What perfect timing! I just bought the Bifurca Vest pattern yesterday! :) I might do two kits. I already planned to do the Grow-Shawl and already have the yarn❤ A shawl might be perfect for a year long knit along.

I really love Plotulopi. Many people can't wear it next to skin, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Interestingly enough, some of the dyed colors feel more harsh to the hand than others. I did have issues knitting the dark red. For some reason it made my eyes water and my nose run. LOL I've never had that issue with any other color, though, and the issues stopped once I washed the finished garment. I must have been allergic to something in that particular color's dye. It has become one of my favorite sweaters. So warm, yet light and airy. Warm matters here somewhat more than a lot of other places. The Rusty has been on the short list for things to knit next. Maybe it will be bumped up, though knitting unspun with sweaty hands might be problematic. Maybe not my best bet for a late spring/early summer project. 😜

I just stumbled upon your channel and decided to stay :D I would be interested to hear what you think about Plötulopi once you get started - I find it very scratchy, and if I want unspun yarn, I prefer Wooldreamers Manchelopis (there is an online shop in Germany that you can order it from) I am also completely obsessed with the look of the "Coverlet", but have many other projects on my needles at the moment :)
@MerryweatherKnitting7 ай бұрын
Oooh I am so so glad!!✨️ It is so good to have you 🕊 Thank you so much for sharing about Manchelopis~ I just had a peek and the colorways are just lovely. I'm excited about knitting with handspun, if I enjoy it I'll definitely have to look into a project using Manchelopis as well. I'm not very sensitive to rustic wool, but extra softness is always a joy 🌸
