For all of those saying the United States is one of the most murderous countries in the world: In the U.S., are you at risk of getting killed because of owning a smartphone? Do like 80% of all cars have darkened windows for delinquents not to see your items of value? Do you see bulletproof cars driven by average middle class citizens? Do you see people walking to a place or using public transport and think they’re insane? Do you have to stay at a party until 6:00 AM (or sunrise) for driving home at 3-4 AM is bound to getting kidnapped? Is having high walls, electrical fences, watchdogs or aggressive ones, alarms, etc. on the outside of a house totally normal for average middle class citizens? Are you afraid of calling the police (if needed) for the fear they’ll rather pair up with the criminals for money? Does the population live in constant fear and anxiety over the hundreds of homicides that occur IN A WEEK? Can absolutely everyone you meet have a story of their own or of a familiar related to getting assaulted, robbed, kidnapped, or even worse, murdered? I’ve visited the United States before, so I already expect all of the answers to be no. Therefore, no, these facts aren’t lies and the U.S. is far from being the most murderous country in the world. P.S. From a girl living in my beloved Venezuela

@KristerAndersson-nc8zo9 жыл бұрын
Andres Erard So? who cares?
@jeremyjones65779 жыл бұрын
Krister Andersson Well people can reasonably disagree. There are 3 countries here that are in the South American continent (Brazil, Venezuela and Columbia), 8 are in Sub-Sahara Africa and the reminder are in Central America (5) and Caribbean (8). The exception being Mexico 1. Unless you also consider Mexico to be part of Central America, in that case it would be 6. But in the Anglophone world most people agree that the Americas is divided into two continents north and south at the Isthmus of Panama. Central America is supposed to be understood as region within North America.Therefore all the Central American countries and Mexico would also be in North America. The Caribbean Islands are part the Americas and there are certainly not in South America. So they would have to be in North America. Unless you argue that because Caribbean Islands are not on Mainland America there are in neither North America or South America. But following that logic should lead you to the conclusion that the UK and Iceland are not in Europe. Madagascar is not in Africa. Sri Lanka, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore are not in Asia. Therefore one could argue that14 of the 25 countries are in North America. The same continent as the United States.8 are in Africa and 3 are in South America. Unless you insist that Caribbean is not part of North America in that case it would be 6 in North America, 8 in Caribbean, 8 in Africa and 3 in South America.

Phillip Matsasa That would be true every single country on earth. now and in the past. As every bit of land today, was conquered at some point in its' history. And its' indigenous peoples either enslaved, slaughtered, driven out or assimilated. This practice can be traced back to the earliest tribes in man's long bloody history. The desire to survive propagate, and spread out, is the very trait that drove man's evolution. It is how man drove out its' competition, and became the dominant species. The most of the nations on this list, have yet to achieve an equilibrium within their societies. Or had it destroyed by corruption and dictatorships.

Nothing to do with it at all. The race card always rears it’s ugly head. Lived in st Lucia for many years. And the violent crime rate is pretty high considering it’s a small island. A small argument can lead to be chopped by a cutlass. And the last few years you can be killed trying to resist your cell phone being stolen. It’s a case of poverty little education And poor economy making youths have little chance of prospering with corrupt governments and want material things with little chance of getting them.

I can only conclude that with migration, economic conditions, poverty, and other appalling conditions in these nations have contributed to these unfortunate statistics. It is worth noting here in South Africa, our murder rate is far higher than the official figure. Many murder victims had no birth or death certificate as they live in the very rural areas. Furthermore, an estimated 20% of white murders go without any official recognition or investigation, and so are not in the legal system at all and so don't contribute to this figure. This is due to large racism against the 9% white population, and to keep the official figures lower so as not to generate resentment towards the leading party, the ANC, who are incredibly corrupt and anti-white. Also, Lesotho is pronounced "Leh-Sooh-Tooh". Despite this, South Africa is still a wonderful country to live in as any race, as day to day life in the suburbs and cities is all but untouched by these problems for the most part, except for of course the inner city. The wonder culture and friendly people make up for a lot of our problems, and geographically we have one of the most beautiful countries in the world. If you ever considered visiting, I would highly recommend it, especially along the East and South Coasts. Johannesburg is a wonder all of its own, being the worlds largest artificial forest, as well as one of Africa's largest cities.

It is so sad to see how these men in Belize slay each other like wild beasts in the animal Kingdom on national geographic. What is even more sad is the fact that the conviction rate is small. One can get off jail sentence easily as long as they know some political government official. Belize is no longer what it used to be. I.m born and raised in Belize and there are streets in the city I would not dare walk.

@jamericankadie78579 жыл бұрын
tonstad39 It's a lot deeper than that. I'm of Caribbean decent and it's been getting worse over time because of so many factors that come into play. I have family and friends who have been victims of these crimes. The location of many of these countries are one of them(drugs, etc.). I also noticed that moral values have changed. A lot of people want to be Americanized, and because most of these countries are small and poor, they do whatever it takes to try and live that life, but yet they do not want to work for it(laziness). Some have picked up the mindset that education isn't important because even though someone has a degree they might not get paid as well for all their hard work and dedication but if they rob and kill(usually so they will not have any witness and witnesses are scared to tell because of fear and corruption), they can get quick money faster. From my experience, it's never always been like that(I can only speak for the Caribbean). I used to be able to go there and leave the door open at night and walk outside as a female. I felt safe there. I used to only hear bad things in major cities(which is the case for most countries). Sorry for the long reply, but there's a lot to it. I also don't believe that being a certain race makes someone more dangerous because all races do crimes and even looking back in history, people of colour were not always perceived as dangerous.

I actually live in El Salvador and theres a hospital next to my house well, not next but pretty close. So the thing is that almost like every 5 minutes, I hear ambulances, and when I see the news it says like a guy was murdered or assaulted by a gang or stuff like that and it really freaks me out

Carvel Sewell ive been to the Bahamas because i have a wealthy family member there , and we visited primary schools to give them hope and stuff. A lot of people in the Bahamas actually live in poverty and are homeless. The primary school kids ran mostly illiterate , and they have burglar bars on each door because schools get shot up. and when someone misbehaves they spend the day outside getting scorned at and doing push-ups and stuff. And my family member gave us a tour of the island and there's legit 1 hospital and most people who go in it don't come out because there are few doctors and it isnt that sanitary. The whole situation of that country just makes me sad

These guys sound so biased, the data they pick to describe for certain countries almost seem they have a problem with them. They describe certain countries as shit holes even though they are lower on the list and include impertinent info but then for other countries they just ascribe the violence to poverty. Things are rarely that simply.

If i said American is a country where torture is legal through bureaucracy FACT , It's a country where military spending exceeds numerous countries gdp's these funds are used for numerous military campaigns which result in the deaths both civilians and foe's alike. FACT Police brutality is on the rise in the nation. FACT These are all facts but they paint an erroneous picture, humans are prone to jumping to conclusions. In South Africa the human rights group Afriforum's research dated Oct 2018 indicate a murder rate among farmers as high as 156/100 000. This rate is questioned due to the term farm - which may vary from a commercial farm to a smallholding.
