Hi All, so glad to be back! Let me know if you've tried some of these! I'm curious, which ones are your favorite(s) so far?

I just completed this 3 feathers project. It is my first attempt at stained glass. It turned out amazing! Thank you for sharing your experiences, and expertise. You have given me the confidence and inspiration to get started on this beautiful art form.

When you do feathers like those, try using random scrap and lay them out to look like a feather instead of doing a pattern. You will break less glass and use up small unwanted scrap.

Welcome back! I love your videos and just got my beginners kit about a week ago. My first piece was a crescent moon and some clouds. I'm not sure why I didn't listen to the whole start with straight cuts lol. Thank you for inspiring me to pick up a new craft

I did the honeycomb as my first piece! I don’t have a grinder yet (should be here next week!), so I used the carborundum stone. I’m pretty happy with it, but I definitely need more practice! 😆

I’ve made the Sri Yatra dream catcher with the three feathers...all those little itty bitty triangles😩...that border was a challenge too but it is absolutely beautiful so I am happy that I persisted. I also made the geometric terrarium...the copper patina has not fared too well because of the water from spraying the air plant but it turned out pretty well over all...I love most all the projects I’ve seen you make...I want to make a few more things like the incense holder, the triangle shelf...maybe the honey comb...I’m kinda obsessed with 3D projects like the terrarium...maybe you will revisit those. Keep up the excellent work... I enjoy your channel very much 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰👍🏾😁

Welcome baaaack!! I've missed you. Now I discover there were patterns for the feathers! I made my own patterns but way too small for my level of expertise and they were a nightmare. Figure the 3 were each about 3-5 inches in total, so you can imagine the time I had wrapping with foil. I still haven't hung them all together on the main piece because I dropped and broke a tiny end piece. Hope the super glue works after all this work! Glad you're all home safely.

Welcome Back! I did a variation of the incense holder project and added a moveable stand to hold the stick style incense (I made my middle piece to tall LOL!). I did post a video! Looking forward to seeing what you do next. I am loving the foil overlay technique to add details to pieces.

Hi, super to see all your items, remember progress not perfection, but I do think that the green and black Seed of Life is pretty darn perfect. For the breaking point (please stop fiddling with it!) You can add a wire around it, bury the ends into a longer solder line and then re-bead to cover it along the exterior edge and then interior solder lines. You might decide to disassemble that one piece first, replace it, and add the wire around it with the ends tucked in to the interior then beading the outer edge to embed the wire around that pointed piece. I hope that makes sense. Good luck, keep it going, I'm learning so much from you and really enjoy your art with you!

I found your channel a few weeks ago and I love it! Binge watched all your videos and am looking forward to your future projects! I do have a question: How loud is the grinder? Too loud for being in an apartment?
@StainedGlassDIY3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! The grinder could be loud for an apartment especially for long sessions or late night work. I never did grind at night but normal work during the day felt okay.
@lindabaldridge44382 жыл бұрын
Depends on your grinder, some are very quiet, some not.

Hey,glad your back!..I have a 12x12 project- what would you recommend framing it with to hang it with that’s not came. I don’t know how to work with came and I’m afraid just adding loops will not be sturdy enough.

I love your videos. I'm a retired master electrician, who has always been fascinated with the stained glass art form. I've purchased several pieces in the past. Now I have time on my hands, and a desire to jump in and start making my own pieces. Your videos have given me the confidence and motivation to give it a go. I've been collecting all of the tools and supplies that are on your check list. I will soon try to make the feather patterns that you have on your page. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us.

WOW! I'm new to your channel and I have to say you impressed me from the start with your adorable little one's laughter and energy. You totally have your hands full, and you will be lovingly entertained every 'step' of the way!🥰😌🦋 And then I saw your glass work...the wolf is superb. The artist is usually the worst critic. I have put my glass aside to raise our kids and recently brought out the heavy footlocker much of it was stored in and what fun to see and feel it. So inspired! I am VERY HAPPY to have found you! I really want to try the foil overlay. It does bring so much more to the piece. 🌈
