The CPR dummy's name is resesitation Annie and in Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal song when he asks, "Annie are you ok, are you ok Annie?" He got the inspiration for that line because of the line the teach in CPR classes to ask "Annie are you ok?" If no response CPR is administered. Just a little factoid that I found interesting when I learned the origin of the CPR dummy's name

When I was born, in July of 1976, I had to stay at the hospital for 3 months because of my cleft palate and lip and during that time my grandmother asked the nurse to stop pricking me with all of the needles because I would cry every time they did it but the nurse insisted that babies can’t feel pain. My grandmother knew better. Thankfully God got us through it I used to be so afraid of needles but not anymore!!!

One day my daughters said they saw a video where a guy pretended to pass out to see what his dog would do. So of course they wanted to try it. I went first & he licked my face, my arms, & my feet & then got on top of me & started barking. So I gave him an extra treat that day since I felt bad for stressing him. A few days later my daughters tried it. He only tried helping my youngest daughter. He just stepped over my teen daughters & he even started to pee on one of them 😂.

ahh yes, the good old sleep paralysis, i've had that happen many times, but i've never been scared, but rather getting steadily angrier cuz of outside noise that kept pestering me, i remember one case where i was hit with an attack like that, there was a person that kept banging on my door repeatedly, and since i couldn't answer them i kept getting more & more mad, it finally ended with me getting up, walking over to my door tore it open and just yelled at the top of my lungs to "stop banging on my door constantly for the past half hour cuz i was unable to do anything about it, and how they would feel if someone did it to them when they are literally trapped inside their own body without any control" that was the last time they did that, but yeah, i strangely don't mind it when it happens, gives me time to think really
@jesseellis3126 Жыл бұрын
I've also had similar episodes like that. Someone is either knocking or jiggling my doorknob and i can't get up to do anything about it..i have a recurring one where a train horn is getting so loud that i think its going to cave in my skull lol. that's the most disturbing one i get.

E = mc² is the Mass-Energy Equivalence formula, NOT the Theory of Relativity, and nothing to do with the Theory of Relativity. I would think that if you got pregnant and there was a remote chance that you would have to use this antiquated saw instead of a C-section to have a baby there would be a LOT LESSER people having babies because they would not want to take a chance of that happening to them! There’s no way that I could see myself wanting to have a baby so badly that I would willingly put myself through that torture!!!

Sleep paralysis is no joke! I've had many different manifestations of it. Including loud noises, people trying to get me, a constant loop of thinking im awake and going about my day and realizing im asleep and repeating it self over and over and over..also seeing people stare in my face inches above my head and i cant do anything but stare back at them for what feels like hours...its not fun. When I was in Alaska, the ranger said that playing dead doesn't work on all brown or grizzly bears. Some respond to being large and loud, some to playing dead but there's no way to know. He said the best thing to do when you're in brown and black bear territory is to make noise as you go, (talk, sing, whistle, jingle things). The vast majority of brown and black bears will avoid you if they hear you coming

Oh yeah...very true about the crows. Back in the day when they were hunted for food more (I'm assuming), you CAN trick them. For example if 2 people were hunting, and the crow(s) saw the two walking together, if one person hid, and the other walked away, the crow(s) assumed you BOTH walked away. That way one hunter had a pretty good shot to take them out. Turns out crows are NOT very good mathematicians!

Re: #20 -- Resusci-Annie inspired "Smooth Criminal". Yes. _That_ one. By the King of Pop. The "Annie" repeatedly referred to is, yes, the CPR dummy. Artists find inspiration in the weirdest things. "Annie are you okay? So, Annie, are you okay? Are you okay, Annie?" LPT: "Smooth Criminal" is a good CPR song, up there with "Stayin' Alive" and "Another One Bites The Dust".

I have always heard that beaver extract was used mainly as a substitute for rasberry flavoring. What I find more disturbing is that the sheer number of beavers killed for this extract is somehow more economically viable than actually just using the natural flavor they replace. I live in the beaver state with communities like Beaver Marsh, Beavercreek, Beaver and Beaverton and Oregon State University's mascot is the Beaver and the only live beaver I have ever seen in the wild was on a trip to Alaska.
