You never stop being frugal when times have been hard in the past. As you know I'm a fairly frugal person and like you, always work out my meals from what needs to be used in the fridge. I hate wasting money but will spend money when needed or for others. On a funny note, we did buy a lotto ticket last week when it was to be a big draw and my grandson said "Nana, if you win will you stop being cheap?". Yes, I laughed and hadn't realised that he saw me this way!

Your money saving ideas are always excellent. Ive never owned nor needed a dryer and l live in Melbourne Australia, dry everything on the clothes line and air them inside near a sunny window if need be. Yesssss if my oven is on, you bet lm going to have that thing crammed with a roast dinner, fruit crumble, cookies or cake cooking all at once!! Thankyou for sharing 😊

Thanks so much for the great tips! I also stopped buying a lot of things and stopped wearing make-up. It's not easy but the skin looks better and really it's not healthy to put on make-up. We have to face the fact that we are not perfect! Great tips important video and I look forward to another one! Thanks. P.S. Please don't cut your hair! You have beautiful long hair!!!

Question idk if you’ve found an answer but it sounds like you maybe have found some people- how do you find frugal community? Frugal mom friends? Other frugal families? I want to hang out, but I want to go for a walk in the park, have people over for coffee at my place, and get the kids together to enjoy a backyard blowup pool (not go to a cafe, go to the trampoline park, or pay for a waterpark day). I want people to borrow my big coffee carafe for their events or ask to seed swap! I’d love to loan out our miter saw or ladder! Can we borrow your steam clean vacuum instead of renting one? Like where do you find community like this?!

It's so hard, and to be honest, we haven't found that where we live yet. To some degree we get a little bit of that from just normal friends we meet. But we have only been in Vancouver a year, so we don't have a ton of close bonds yet with a lot of people. I think it just comes from talking to people, usually if you are doing something, and somebody else is doing the same thing, you at least share that one thing at that same time. So maybe that will translate to a longer friendship. It is so hard being in a stage when that doesn't exist....YET!

Great tips! I'm already doing most but about to be on a single income so bread making and more meal prep here i come! Would love an "appliance maintenance" video! That's something i feel like i don't do enough of.

Excellent, well done. Loved them all, practice many, and choose to spend if & when i need to, with an occasional want to item too. What about not buying books - are there good libraries n Vancouver? As you may know, NZ has wonderful free public libraries everywhere - use them, or lose them, I say.

We have amazing public libraries here and even loads of little free libraries all over our neighborhood! I listen to audiobooks because I find it really hard to pick up a physical book while the kids are so full on right now.

Do you recommend the breville ? I was going to buy it for the same reason but a family friend said they are not the best so i didn’t buy it .

We love it, and the model we have is great. It heats up fast, the espresso is nice. I think it's probably the last stop before very expensive espresso machines.
