Something to note: you don't need the amibos to get those Divine Beast masks anymore. You can find them in the game by talking to the Sages after finishing their temple - they'll give you a riddle to solve, and if you go to the location from the riddle you'll find a chest with their people's Divine Beast Mask inside. Those masks are upgradable in TotK, too. If you know the location, you can even get them before the temple; I accidentally stumbled onto the Rudania mask my first playthrough long before climbing the volcano. Also, you can make your own Mirror Shield in TotK by fusing the mirrors onto a shield. They are fusible objects.

A few things 1. There's a quest that isn't available till after the Fire Temple that explains the two gecko landmarks have been around before the calamity but the lava from Death Mountain covered them up and a certain Goron couldn't explore a certain cave that was involved with them. 2. I found a special easter egg I think most would over look. I believe I found the old Zora Domain beneath the current Zora Domain. The reason I believe this is the former domain from OoT is because if you look at the map, the has a similar river landmark that leads to to a specific water fall that hides a cave where the Zoras use to live and within the cave there is a waterfall along with similar surrounding that looks like it could have changed over time

It's not possible. This game is basically a retelling of Ocarina of Time, with a few important things missing. Link and the Master Sword being those things. I never liked the timeline. It seemed very forced and not very well thought out. The only game that seems to actually try and fit into any kind of "timeline" is Skyward Sword. Ocarina of Time is the worst offender of the "timeline" being a rushed afterthought. These new games are trying to stand alone and step away from being connected to the other games. That's what makes them great. It's a refreshing retelling of the battle for Hyrule.

was searching for stuff to do post-game, Ive grinded out all the shrines, wells, and even the caves (spent an hour looking for the last one I missed, turns out there's caves on the tutorial island) and was just happy to listen to this video as I wandered around. it's always exciting when a new Zelda channel pops up and I'd definitely be interested in a future video of you playing through older Zelda titles and then doing analysis of where certain inspirations came from. could be an idea for some interesting commentary:)

The Gecko pools are mentioned in a mission and might be much older than the last appearance of the divine beasts, it is related to older legends among the Goron, but since there was lava all over, they were hidden for possibly generations. Needs to be double checked.

If you hold ZL while swimming in Tears of the Kingdom, Link will begin to tread water very similarly to the Hero of Time. Nice little easter egg.

You can get the Vah masks in the game, but they are hidden behind quests. Tulin, in the Rito village talks about the treasure of the hot springs, finding that gets you Vah Medoh Divine Helm.

I picked up on the fact that the caves have almost underwater like plant life and also there is the frog/axolotl creature that spews bubbles. My first thought was your theory about the islands being the same ones from wind waker that used to be in the great sea, because of the aquatic themes. They also have rock salt deposits.

to be clear breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom have there own timeline separate of every other zelda game. plus the zonai descended from then ascended to the heavens hinted by Ganondorf in the geoglyphs and Hylians and what appears to be early Sheikah are also seen in the geoglyphs hylians didn't evolve from dragon goat aztec people and again all other zelda games are not in the same timeline hell even universe as botw and totk.

Actually I doubt that Zonai and Shiekah are somehow related, because Aonuma hinted out in his Interview that even the Era of the Zonai is put at the very end. I know it is just a cheap solution but at least they don't fuck up the lore
