It may well have been a benevolent forest spirit, who chose to present itself to the child in a physical form he would understand (and not scare him too much). I've been the recipient of a lot of love once from a forest spirit in Oregon; I was going through some rough times, feeling very alone in the world, and They made me feel loved, which was all I needed to keep going. Also, who wouldn't love to cuddle a bit with an actual bear? 🐻

The strangest thing I’ve seen in the forest was a pitch black fog that moved against the wind, it moved with purpose and was quite scary. Later found out that there is an abandoned house not far from where I saw the black fog, and that the story goes that a man murdered his wife there in the late 1800. Dogs are said to go crazy around the ruins of the house.

Having lived in Japan, the story goes .... people went there (Aokigahara) to commit suicide. So many ended up doing it, that I was cursed .. then people would get lost in the forest. That's the story I''ve heard .. and NEVER went. It's been that way as early as the 1960's.
@Nunya3102 жыл бұрын
It hasn’t been fenced up. People are permitted to enter, if your talking about the suicide forest at the base of Mt. Fuji (Aokigahara forest) not sure where you heard that, tourists and locals still go in there to this day. On average 105 bodies are discovered per year. A team goes out annually to collect as many as they can. It’s a place some people choose to go end their lives in, other people tourists etc. just go to walk trails. Certain trails have signs to not enter due to there being more treacherous areas that just aren’t safe with uneven ground and some small underground caves. Definitely still open to the public though, it’s a tourist destination… ✌🏼

I studied in Darjeeling at St. Joseph's school. We had travelled to Victoria boys school for the Inter-school volleyball tournament which is about 2 hours away by road. There, we stayed at the dormitory (which apparently was haunted and left for guests in big numbers to stay in). Later at night, we went to the woods to smoke cigarettes (yes, a bunch of delinquents) along with few seniors of VBS. 10 minutes in, we heard steps approaching from downhill hurrying through the leaves on the ground. It was 12:30am. A senior flashed his torch light and the steps halted immediately. Adding up, it was a misty night, the moon barely penetrating through the clouds. 2 minutes later, as we were departing, those steps started again and this time it was becoming louder and faster (so to say, approaching our way). We ran for our lives, after which. An incident I shall never forget after 20 years.

I'm a deer hunter. One time as a kid I was hunting the deep thick woods. I came to a spot in the woods with at was way way far off any road or trail in very thick trees, and I found a giant 700 pound tree that was planted upside down. I remember looking at it thinking who would come out here in the middle of knowhere and plant a tree upside down? And how would they? As the tree was massive that would take heavy equipment to do this. Furthermore no way could they ever get heavy equipment to the location I was at. I spent some time looking g at it trying to make sence of it. As I did so I recall feeling a fear I hadn't noticed before but was their in me the whole time. I was surprised by my level of fear as I never felt scared in the woods at all. I was more comphortable in the woods then in the city. I took off but always remembered that. Still have no explination

Some of these people are poor and dont have access to food assistance. Our area is limiting help to the elderly and families who are in poverty. Even the churches are instituting similer rules as they are strapped and to the breaking point. What they hunt is what they eat to get for protien. They have gardens but around here the growing is getting shorter. Hunting means they can save money for groceries. I do think hunting should be restricted to the needy who need what they hunt for survival. They even use the hides to make coats, hats, and mittens for their kids. I have zero problem with this if its for survival. Otherwise no.

@@susanbrown2909 To be fair, if a hunter shoots animals like deer for food then it really is no different than the millions (or billions?) of people that buy meat at supermarkets, theyre just cutting out the middle man, and any hunter worth their salt would put the animal down quick and painlessly.

Okay, how would the tree grow upside down? Where would the roots be? The tree had to have either been up-rooted and put back upside down or brought in from another location and put there. Very strange story.

Wierdest thing I ever saw in the woods were the partial remains of sheep bones scattered around randomly. I was completing the Duke of Edinburgh award at the time and the woodland area was quite dense and it didnt look like the remains had scattered naturally from how we found It. Peculiar as there were no farms around in the local proximity of the woods and there were some grassy areas so it most likely didnt starve. Compared to everywhere else we walked this area was really quiet, no wildlife, no birds, just a dimly lit wood that was silent to the point where it was noticeable. One of the people in our group said they thought the area was really creepy before we even found the skeletal remains. The whole thing could have been complete coincidence but it was definitely an eerie feeling at the time.

There's one weird thing I've come across in the woods, and its still just a 5 min walk away. In a small clearing in the nearby forest i stumbled into a patch of yellow dead looking grass in a perfect circle about 20 feet across in the center of the clearing. My first thought was someone was playing a stupid prank salting the ground to make it look like a UFO landing spot, or to make a "fairy circle" but the evidence didn't quite add up. First: the clearing is hardly even visible from the trail and the grass was knee-waist high so i couldn't make out the shape until i was standing in it. Second: The grass wasn't actually dead, it was still hydrated and seemed to be just as healthy as its green counterparts, and also flowers, the stems and leaves were all yellow but the flowers petals kept their color. Third, this was 3 years ago and the grass grows back yellow each year with no changes. I've come across a lot of explanations but none fully fit the bill, the best i got is some chemical i cant find a profile match for, which is fair, its hard to find such specific niche details so i didn't look too hard. So any ideas, theories or explanations are appreciated.

People fly tipped there, the council removed the rubbish but the soil is still polluted and needs fertilizer on top.

Just because someone is alone in the woods and you don't know why, doesn't mean they are "lurking". Last I checked, this is still a free country.

My friends and I spend a good bit of our childhood playing in the woods. I'm glad we didn't know about bigfoot or any other paranormal stuff. I wonder if there is anyone brave enough to try to approach a bigfoot if they saw one like in the video?

I would love to, given the opportunity. Believe me, I've faced far more terrifying things than Bigfoot

I am from North Florida, but I went to college at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. I had previously never heard about the Fort Myers Eight, but that is a creepy story. Fort Myers and the Fakahatchee Strand in Lee and Collier Counties is an intense area. The underbrush is amazingly thick, and there is an abundance of ambush spots. I always had a creepy feeling while walking in that area - probably because there is a serial killer near...
