I re-did my kitchen 3 years ago. No one else had white kitchens that had a 25 year guarantee. They look like I just got them. Very important - they told me if I bought the kitchen after joining the IKEA Family and the cabinets went on sale, with the Family Card and the receipt they would refund me 20 percent! They told me that the next large kitchen sale would be within the 3 months. I got back over Nine Hundred Dollars! The next year they told me they were discontinuing this style, but not to worry as they put aside enough of the product to be able to replace any doors, hardware, all parts to cover everyones' 25 year warranty! Who does that? No one else would guarantee that the white canines would not discolor, especially by the stove. I got my appliances elsewhere do to size requirements in my kitchen. I still don't cook a lot, but every day I smile when I enter my apartment size kitchen. More hacks please. I just subbed!

Yep. We also returned a bunch of stuff for our kitchen, got gift cards as a refund, bought more parts for the kitchen ... and they gave us 15% off on that! So we essentially stacked the discount.

If you're missing parts from any IKEA product (like hardware) you can actually get them free at the customer service desk. Not sure if they have all parts but be prepared with part number from the instruction manual. We've done it before for bunk bed pieces! More IKEA is excellent especially cheap fashionable finds and how your incorporate them (that's what I expected by the title but this was great as well)

Cashier at Ikea here, make sure you always bring your Ikea family card, we can't look it up by phone number. And that text thing doesnt always work. Also in your birthday month you get a 15$ off any purchases coupon if you are a family member (even if you just spend 15$) but you have to show proof (ID). For a easy trip to ikea don't go saturday afternoons (or sunday or vacations), or you will be hugely overwhelmed. Don't forget to check if you have all your boxes if you buy furniture, if it has a big yellow number and next to that it says (1/2) you will need a number 2 box (2/2) for your item to be complete. Bring your own bag or buy one from us for 99 cent (they are super big) but we do not give out free plastic bags.

IKEA is a fund store to browse around in. However, if you have a shopping list then this is a great video to follow. We had a hard time and spent an entire day looking for all of our shopping list. It was exhausting. We didn’t give up because we drove 3.5 hours and we found almost everything. Only a few items were sold out. By the end of the night we were expert on navigating the store but it did take all day to learn mind you we didn’t watch this video before going to shop. In retrospect I would have loved to have seen this video before our shopping trip. It would have saved us so much time.

In our local Ikea, they fill shelves with random Swedish books. My sister and I sat in one of the fake lounges and started reading the books aloud and to our surprise, people started gathering around listening ... the one issue is we speak (and read) no Swedish and were just making it up. Nonetheless the pressure of the growing crowd meant we kept reading until our parents called us away.

Bed bath and beyond actually has a return policy of up to 2 years even if the item has been used and you don't have a receipt! As long as they can find your card in the system they'll do it, even a pillow that has no packaging that you used for a year. Often they can only do store credit if it's too long but hey that's something!

Good tips! I’d like to add For those from Sweden, if you own a smartphone you can download the app Skipp and there have your card ready to be scanned. Perfect if you are in self-check-out and realise you forgot the card at home and won’t need help from a employee to make you club purchase. Skipp is for other membership Cards as Well such as Stadium, Lindex, Shell, Preem etc.

Come on, you didn't mention the best hack of all at IKEA!!! Free food for newspapers!! If you bring in a certain amount of newspapers for recycling, IKEA will give you a free meal. Double check with your store. In some places it's measured by the weight, but last time I checked in the USA it was measured by stacking the papers flat until they were at least a certain number of inches high (like a bundle of 8-12 inches). This is a lot of paper, but not hard to do if you're a subscriber and let it pile up. I think they use the paper for wrapping fragile items and recycling. Call your local store in advance so you haul enough newspaper to feed the whole family. (Sometimes they give free meals once you spend a certain amount, so check that out too.) IT'S FREE!!

Here in Australia, things are a bit different with Ikea. For starters, Ikea prices are some of the highest in the world (despite our proximity to China, where from, much of this stuff comes). This year's price saw a typical $270 cabinet jump to $335 (+25%). I've been planning my kitchen for 3 years, so I notice these things. Another thing here: Ikea stopped with the annual kitchen discount sales a few years ago. Home improvement has been big in this country for the past 10 years; Ikea has probably decided to cash in when shoppers are going to buy anyway (there are competitors here who are also cashing in). Another observation - the family card is little more than a data miner. You're always asked you to scan your card at checkout - I ask then: "Do I get a discount?"... ..."no, but it's better for warranty and in case you lose your receipt". Yes, you can save a bit more with the family card, but here, only on limited items and it's no a big discount. All that said, Ikea products are well thought out and often the best value furnishing solution.
