Jumbo has a very good armor, but it is not without weaknesses, the 88mm gun can exploit its weaknesses, while the 75mm gun is useless against the Tiger's frontal armor it has to go around to the side to be able to Penetrating the Tiger's armor will expose the Jumbo to more weaknesses against the 88mm gun, the 76mm gun is another case.

That is flawed. 75mm is not entirely useless against the front, as it can pen under 600m or 500m with some success. However, we must not forget most of the tank on tank occurs at long range so it was doable to go for side but how often had they showed their sides so it was wise to call in for air mission or wait for speedy tank destroyers (including firefly tanks on other missions). And even M61 did not fully penetrate, the Tiger I crew can be harmed due to spalling.

I don't think Tiger I could penetrate the Jumbo's armour. The thickness of the armour plate is around 102mm, but the fact that it's sloped puts its effective thickness at around 150mm. Considering Tiger I could penetrate around 160mm at close ranges (10-100m), and most tank battles happen at long ranges (1km+), it makes sense to assume so.

A jumbo with a 17 pounder would have been a tank hunter. The jumbo with a 75 was troop support… the HE round for the 75 was rather good for things other than tanks… the AP was ok on panzer III’s and 4’s

Even if they put thicker armor on M4 chassis, it's still incapable to punch through the frontal armor of Tiger I if they do not remove 75mm M3 with more powerful 76mm M1. Anyway i love your new blueprints animation.

The thickness of armor is only part of the equation. The Tiger 1 was the only tank ever made that used nickel armor, which allowed it to perform as thicker armor. Many people forget this today, which is a fatal flaw in the calculations.

Odd how Germans never use their range advantage and sit back invulnerable to responding fire? Not bright. Even in desert and steppes sons, reading veterans books we frustrated Rommel ever pulling back to keep our own guns beyond effective range. Only Matilda could stand up to 88 but had no HE shells nor anti-infantry. His veterans also much better opinion of Italians and tanks especially armoured cars and artillery, I has no idea their quad flak so effective against us even beyond M4 range. Visuals fantastic, just realism poor, no one saying ‘screw this I’m going to live to fight another day’. But watching these helps us imagine what we’re reading from actual veterans. Thanks.

@@5co756 must be smaller, when we played Afrika Kirk’s etc board games before computer games. Only Matilda front armour could get close to German Italian defenses. But useless against infantry till later version We had success with Italian quad flak gun though, just far more rolls hoping critical hit, track or turret ring etc. I don’t believe anything but couple of Tigers made it there too late could repel 88 fire even thousands m off? Italian 84? Wasn’t bad either. The games had scenarios to play? Long long time ago when guys enjoyed each other’s company in person lots of pizza and laughter.

Like HPS Simulations hired by US military, their ‘unrealistic’ board games converted to modern computers games would literally source actual research and results data both enemy(where possible, Japan burnt most theirs) or our own testing both during war, captured, and post-war. These were your great and grandfather ‘fuvkdrds’ who sourced the research for your modern ‘reality SIMULATIONS’. I suspect the world militaries care about accuracy. To insult someone with the audacity to admit they may be wrong, is possibly why you couldn’t relate to guys getting together in person to play against each other face to face. Ya know, something tells me that folks didn't study WW2 tactics or even current ones. No tank destroyers mixed in ( that 76.2mm or 90mm), no infantry or artillery support, stopping to fire ( really, maneuvering is life saving), no recon done ( M3/M5 or M8), or observation APCs. I just mentioned this because a similar battle was witnessed on a table top. It involved a SS Tiger Bat. with a SS Panzer grenadier Bat. bumping into a 4th Recon Cav. Sqdrn and a Armored Task Force. Battle lasted four hours. My light tank troop, D Troop, massacred a Panzer grenadier company! Alternative History, when SS Heavy Tank Bat. 503 gets harassed by the M10s belonging to 7th Recon Sqdrn ( formerly 7th Cavalry Regiment!).

Думаю это сказано очень правильно и отнести можно к любому роду войск. Почему хокейный клуб любой с разгромом выиграет у любой сборной по хокею . В клубе слаженность действий доведенные до совершенства. Вероятно в общевойсковых действиях это весьма трудно, чтоб авиация , артиллерия , и бронетанковые войска с десантом работали слаженно. Такого в армии СССР добивался маршал Роккосовский и то на время проведения операции Багратион.

M4A3E2(76)W Shermans en masse woulda been pretty dangerous. But regular 75mm Jumbos woulda just been underwhelming. Shermans won through numerical superiority and the same flanking and enveloping tactics that won the Germans the early war. Head to head vs big Cats like this without better guns, goes to the big cats.

I understand that it’s a game but a cool detail would be to have the Tigers have more experienced crews due to their chances of survival higher because of the tank their in and the matter of fact that the Nazis didn’t throw random teenagers in their tanks like the Soviets or even the Americans. And yes, I know that in the final parts of the war Germany did what I said but that’s because they were desperate.

This fight was too one-sided for my liking. You should probably have included Jumbos with 76mm M1A1 guns, and Cobra King, which was proven to have squeezed the M1A2 76.2mm gun into its tight turret. This alternate reality wasn’t alternate reality at all. It was the same bloody thing. It saddens me deeply. 😢😢😢😢😢 #dislike
