As to ventilation holes, I'd suggest steel sheets with holes cut out for ventilation grilles (or done on the sheet) in one of the rear doors, and maybe some sort of air duct or something else which directs air kinds sorta one-way from the radiator input to the right side middle door , where you also replace the window with sheet plus grilles (same way as on the rear door). Maybe a fan or two moving air out from the vehicle at the ex-windows to coerce the flow in that direction. That way you have the airflow going roughly from right side door window, through radiator and over engine, to left rear door window. Should keep the thermal deities at bey. As to exhaust? Probably hole and space for on the rear door window sheet replacement, or go out through the door proper or ceiling proper (the latter seems to be a classic in vehicle-mounted gensets). Other than that? Grille of a type which prevents it from raining in? Just my 0,02 € worth.

It's actually just barely within the load limit of the vehicle! Those old Vanettes load 980 kg, and the genset is about 900. Leaves space for a slim-fit driver! Since it's mostly intended to be a back-up diesel that gets hooked up to stuff like houses, grounding should be solved through the output plug. Though I am going to put some kind of big earth lug on it just in case.

Do you plan on making this an automatic start generator or will you be manually turning it on when you need it? As I was thinking you wouldn't have anything penetrating through the shell of the van like the exhaust so you didn't need to worry about water or pests getting in. Instead you just have the exhaust going up to the rear door (maybe with an easily removable extension) and you open the rear and side doors before you start it. Probably give good enough thermals as well.

My only question is "Why?" I thought the van was the 'cheap shed' option, and it was just going to be left in position in the garden. I didn't realise it was going to be mobile. Your local police must be either a: Very understanding, or b: Non-existent.

såg Åland så skriver svenska då hoppas du förstår, jag trodde du var i från fastlandet men ändå. Jag tänkte att du kan ta ut avgasröret genom väggen eller behöver båda dörrarna vara öppna när generatorn går eller räcker det att en släpper ut värmen och det kan vara bra att behålla lite värme under vintern så den går bra
