None of the sequels to the original book or film had anything to do with the Lutz Family or their story. As for Ed and Lorraine Warren, they had nothing to do with the book and were not part of the story until after the Lutz's moved out. He had already been convicted, sentenced, and incarcerated for his crimes before the Lutz's even bought the house. Nor could their story have helped him in any way even in a re-trial since our Criminal Codes do not recognize "The Devil Made Me Do It" as a defense...even assuming the court would have listened to any such evidence in the first place. Which is doubtful. They certainly didn't admit it in the case of Arnie "Cheyenne" Johnson from "The Devil in Connecticut" case which the Warrens WERE involved with as it went down and were prepared to testify for the defense but the Judge ruled "demon possession" inadmissible as a defense. And that was in 1981...only four years after the Amityville Horror story broke. Get a grip, people, Ric Osuna and similar "Professional Deniers" live in a very small world where they cannot admit anything that shakes their certainties or challenges their egos. They will rewrite the facts, misquote witnesses, and do everything they can to deny that something doesn't fit into the nice little box they call the world. They are far from being open minded investigators willing to consider all the evidence before making a decision. The paranormal ist verboten. Natalie was making the movie Brainstorm with Christopher Walken. Robert and Natalie were fighting over an affair with Christopher Walken. Natalie was drunk, and fell off the Splendor. This story has been on the front page of many pulp newspapers since it happened, in 1981 or so. A very sad story, and it is trotted out every year or so when there isn't much going on.
