I am so happy I held onto my still woozy discography vinyl, that is one staying in my collection forever

WOW. Cool list - I have never heard of most of these artists - goes to show how far vinyl reaches! I just bought some expensive VMPs and none were this expensive and I thought I paid too much!

Same for me! Some cool variants and some absolute unknown albums

Great work. I also haven’t heard of most.

Couple of questions. As another Canuck I'm wondering if you still think subscribing to VMP worthwhile? If it helps, my range is from avantgarde classical to garage / punk and most things inbetween. I prioritize sound quality over packaging though I do like nice shiny things too. Also, thanks for giving Canadian pricing. Though I would understand if you switched or added US pricing given their larger share of the KZbin audience & what they seem to expect. Cheers.

Honestly, not worth it. If I had more discretionary income, I probably would. For hip hop heads, big jazz collectors, and folk who dig getting "essential" records its a good service, but maybe not as curated for your tastes? Too many awesome releases coming out these days that you can spend your money on at local stores for my money! The VMP titles are great that they do put out, though, and I know some Canadians who don't mind paying $60 per month (approximately) for an album that might not be in their wheelhouse. Personally, I can't rationalize it anymore (subbed on a few different occassions for albums I was really excited about and ended up not renewing!)

Was expecting Djo - Twenty Twenty to be on this list. Median is $192 (USD) and it currently goes for $400+.

Thanks for the heads up! Double checked and its not under Vinyl Me, Please on Discogs. Weird, but def would have made the list otherwise!

This list surprised the pants off of me! Not the artists I expected

Amazing, I have over 3000 albums, most of which would be considered classics and I have only heard of about 5 of these artists. It makes me realise how ignorant I am.

Personally, I think they'd do better if they had more swap options and just focussed on selecting and pressing quality media rather than some of the gimmicky colour vinyl stuff and "collectible" marketing strategy The offer they had last year with I think six bonus records with a twelve-month subscription was incredible value, but I'd have been getting certain records just for the sake of getting them. I buy music to listen to, not for it to stay sealed and become valuable and collectible. I don't care about limited stuff! I care about quality and availability, which VMP have the option to pursue as their niche now that they've branched out into having their own plant

The only VMP pressing I've ever heard is The Fugees' The Score. It sounded good (I know the album well). I'm pretty ambivalent to how many copies might have been pressed, I'm sure it has been re-pressed repeatedly, elsewhere.
