I'd also include Grand Soir (and BR540), and I prefer Instant Crush from Mancera over Red Tobacco. And Hacivat is the best Nishane imo

The two Amouage's & the Creeds are outstanding. Layton is great, but not one of my personal favorites, but I gotta admit that Layton & Xerjoff's Naxos get so many compliments. Nothing comes even close to those two. I just pop to the shop for a loaf of bread & return with a handful of compliments. I even start to get embarrassed by it sometimes.

Strangely, the only Mancera that impressed me was Gold Prestigium, which I wasn’t expecting based on the note breakdown. Cedrat Boise and Vetiver Sensuel just seemed like fuzzy, chemical blah to me.

It is always difficult to find 100% consensus on lists such as this. I personally think this list, however, was respectable. For those who are really newbies, maybe look to Essential parfums and Obvious parfums to start with mainly singular notes and linear compositions. Great places to start a niche journey. Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉😊

@@DjLoNYC Sorry for stating the obvious, I was just trying to save you frustration since I know these decisions can be difficult, and there seems to be a bit of a 50/50 split on which version people prefer so you might not get a clear answer from comments here. It’s like when people ask “Sedley vs Greenley” and get 10 responses saying Sedley and 10 saying Greenley, it doesn’t really make the decision any easier. It seems that most people find intense to just be a leathery-er version of the original with a smoother and less harsh opening. Besides that they’re apparently both pretty similar in smell and performance (though it seems the original has a slight edge on performance), with some people saying they prefer the new one because of the less harsh opening and others saying they prefer the smell of the original despite its notorious opening. In Ash’s video he said that Intense was a more “grown up/mature” version of the original that leans a bit more similar to Parfums de Marly Carlisle than the original, and has a lot more leather in the base. It wasn’t clear from the video which he preferred, and he seemed to like both. I would say that if you aren’t familiar with the DNA, are determined to blind buy, and know you don’t mind the note of leather, Intense is probably the safer option since the harsh opening of the original seems to be what puts a lot of people off. If you don’t like leather than much, you want something a bit less mature, or just want the strongest possible fragrance then maybe the original is worth sticking with. Hope that helps. 👍🏻

Most people Dont Know what NICHE means ... Like Wikipedia says is Limited Production Perfume . So Hermes Hermessence, Channel , Dior, Armani, all of them Prive line are NICHE and Perfumes like Xerjoff Erba Pura or PDM Layton are NOT Niche !!!

I love niche and indie for this, there is just such an insane amount of variation and unique fragrances. Want a simple but unique floral or vanilla? Sure. A scent smelling like a s*x dungeon? You got it. Literal blood? Yep. You want one of the most mass appealing scents right now? Look no further. Perhaps a church garden might be up your alley. Got that too. I love niche and indie fragrances.

Sorry Ash, you need to show a little more care when editing your videos. In one of your charts you spell Mancera as "Mencera." Also, when talking about Green Irish Tweed you show a bottle of Millesime on the turntable. Nice to see Carner Barcelona on the list. The house doesn't get enough attention. That said, there are so many better bergamot fragrances than Le Labo's Bergamot 22.
