Shawn Tetlow Fair point. In the same way a cover can crush the original, a reboot can - and has - done the same thing. The way Hollyrock works is that they need a certain amount of ‘safe bets’, and reboots/remakes fit the bill. If people didn’t see them, they won’t get remade. Surely you remember the Car 54 Where Are You and My Favorite Martian reboots, do you not. And when a reboot or remake is well done, it’s extremely satisfying.
@robrobb4 жыл бұрын
Everyone always pipes in with "Why doesn't Hollywood come up with original ideas etc blah blah blah" Well they do and they rarely make money. Hollywood is a company and company's are about making money. Midsommar and Hereditary are some of the original ideas and yet made no money in comparison to sequels, some reboots and remakes. While I wholeheartedly agree that Hollywood should take risks they know what works so they won't risk it...

One of my all time favorite shows. What made the show was the chemistry that Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula had. It was also one of the few shows where Bakula could do things like dress in drag or as a monkey or a dog, and it wasn’t done for laughs. A reboot would NEED to have that chemistry between the two leads or it just wouldn’t work.

Labyrinth: ALL HAIL JARETH, the GOBLIN KING Clockwork Orange: Don't you dare even consider touching Clockwork Orange. Hollywood will either turn it into a self analyzing guilt laden childhood flick or some how add a love theme in there somewhere. Blame it on the koolaid Quantum Leap: That be a hard one to bring back either way. Technically, if Sam Beckett was to return to his own time frame, it would appear to everyone the experiment was a failure except to him and Al, since he did not exist in the future once he entered the machine. As for that last episode, that was so far "left field" us diehards had trouble accepting it.

Oh wow, I love 'Altered States'! I was not expecting to see that on this list. It is a life-changing movie, for those of you who haven't seen it, so be warned.

Quantum Leap reboot would be cool.

Sliders could use a reboot and Stephen King's The Stand needs a remake.

There's a reason why Seinfeld was considered the best sitcom of all time. It was absolutely awesome! Nearly flawless in its execution. And with a stellar cast it was magical. A reboot/remake would not do it justice.

I really wish Pushing Daisies was on your list. I always wondered whatever came of that tv show.

Movies: 60's Peter Cushing's twin Dr. Who movies based on William Hartnell's first Daleks stories. 191's "Looker" with Albert Finney, Susan Dey, James Coburn. Finney's a plastic surgeon who's patients start dying which he's accused of, Colburn's the head of a company with a glorified light gun that paralyzes its targets. Look how addicted we are with social media sites like KZbin & Twitch.

I love quoting Mrs. Peacock's long icebreaker speech she gave out of nowhere while everyone was quietly eating.

ALF would be short. A panning shot of a series of Formaldehyde jars, each holding a small bit of ALF. At the end of the last episode, he was eventually captured by the US forces who had been looking for him throughout the series, and it was stated several times that if he was found, he would be experimented on. It was pretty dark for a kids' show, but that last episode showed him being taken away - and that was it. In the 'Buffyverse', Cordelia is dead. Wesley. Dead. Anya. Dead. Angel and Spike? Probably died again fighting a huge demon army. As there are now millions of Slayers around the world, instead of just Buffy, there's not a lot of point bringing it back - and rebooting something so perfect would be an insult to fans, honestly.

I agree with many here, none of them needs to be rebooted or remade. However, two here deserve a follow up movie, if only for closure. That would be Buffy and Quantum Leap.

Family Ties, Mr Belvedere, Who's The Boss, Early Edition, First Wave, Forever Knight, Blood Ties, Mann and Machine, and Psi Factor. I love that Quantum Leap was on this list. Also Highlander, but ONLY if Duncan was the mentor to the main character like Conner was in the original series, and ONLY if Adrian Paul is willing to come back as Duncan. And one more.... Constantine!!!!! That series needed to last a lot longer (with the same cast), and you DO NOT end a series in the way that it ended.

Yes, The Brady Bunch, but this time, Mike and Carol welcome a new Brady Baby into the family. Also, The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. Ashley is fashion designer. Hillary is a broadcaster on a major television network. Will and Carton start their own law practice, with Jazz as their law clerk. Nicky is in college. Aunt Viv runs a bed and breakfast, with Geoffrey as her consierge. Lastly, not so much a reboot, but adding a well loved character to the cast of CSI. Steve Urkel, no longer a geeky nerd, but a respected crime scene investigator, the one who's called when the others just can't figure things out. Kind of like how the Lou Grant character made the transition from comedy to drama.

It is not the Lomaxs the family that ALF lived with was the Tanners not to be confused with the Tanners of Full House.

From the first suggestion to the last... NO! I know this must seem insane to the Woke, PC, Millennials, but here is a thought... CREATE NEW THINGS!!! I know, I know... "But... That means being creative and original but... *WHINE* ALL OF THAT IS HARD!!!" What made all of these amazing to begin with... THEY WERE NEW AND FRESH!!!
