What a fantastic sounding list. A few of these were already on my radar but many check out. Especially the nonfiction ones. Appreciate the effort you put into curating these!

I really appreciate the work you do to make these videos and sum up some exciting new releases. I am very much critical of professional sports because they foster the mindset of competition instead of cooperation. But above all no one is really talking about the physical harm sports cause because you are conditioned to push yourself more than you should and thus increase a chance of serious injury and on top of that the harm on mental health these conditions cause. Having said that I would be interested to read The Racket as it seems to take a more critical approach. Once again thank you for taking the time to compile these lists. I am always intrigued by a few books you dig up.

Yeh I feel that I think elite sport contradictes a lot of beliefs around healthism and disability justice but I don’t think that stops me enjoying it as a spectator. Looking forward to the tennis book too !

@@hannahmay11 There is a Serbian ex-pro basketball player who writes about body exploitation under capitalism in sports. He is in his seventies now I believe. Unfortunately none of his books have been translated yet. His name is Dušan Simonović. He is also the only communist who frequently is interviewed on a right-wing/conspiracy channel Balkan info with his critique of capitalism. He is also the only one who criticizes Ðoković very publicly (in Serbia this is considered a big no no) and Ðoković's most recent obsession with the scammer Semir Osmagić who claims that some rock formations in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, are pyramids and that the whole area has healing properties. Osmagić has almost a cult-like following in the region. Like my friend said recently, You got to love the Balkans. 😂

Read The Coin but wasn't what it sold itself as and was really quite bizarre in parts. Was expecting a great plot romp about her and her students selling the fake Birkins but that fizzles out and is just her and some guy. Sadly the pyramid scheme doesnt materialise .It's not in the slightest bit funny and the protagonist comes across as unhinged in a non interesting way. Such a let down. No wonder the publicist had to reach out to people on Netgalley to review this odd book. One to avoid.. it took me ages to slog through. Scaffolding on the other hand was fantastic.. such a page turner..I've loved her non fiction before so was pleasantly surprised she could also write fiction that appeals to me also. Always enjoy these videos and the hard work you put into them though. Lots of interesting titles. Thank you very much

Oh interesting re. The coin. I passed by scaffolding twice this week in the bookshop so that may have been a mistake! X

Read the coin it’s not that good. Everyone I know is dying is not easy to read or mindless, it takes a really deep look at depression and decision making and rebuilding yourself it’s not an easy read at all. It’s very easy to become frustrated at the main character of this book
