There've been quite a few terrible and/or questionable people who proved good rulers or leaders. For all that Franklin Roosevelt proved to be a good president, he left a lot to be desired as a husband. William Lyon Mackenzie King had a few screws loose personally but is still considered Canada's best prime minister of all time. Similarly, there've been good people who proved terrible rulers or leaders. Jimmy Carter is still considered a very weak president. Richard The Lionheart was loved by his subjects apparently, and many still think well of him, even though he was clearly not paying proper attention to his duties as King Of England. It's a good indicator--but no guarantee.

No. He stated that if he couldn't marry Camilla he would ascend the throne as a single man. Seeing that everyone knew about the relationship with Camilla he would have been closely watched. The Queen, the Palace and Parliament had to go into lengthy discussions as to how to resolve the problem. This seemed after lengthy discussions to be the best solution. The Palace and Parliament also weighed up the fact that Princess Margaret was the first royal to divorce since Henry VIII and three of the Queen's children had also divorced. As the Queen said after the death of Diana (an arranged marriage which was a disaster) lessons had to be learnt from the tragedy. This was one of them. Royalty had to learn to develop with the times.

When Princess Diana went down the aisle and married Prince Charles, she was marrying the man she truly loved, he was marrying a requirement for the continuation of the royal institution under their current rules, (virgin, Protestant, no past, etc), which made Camilla at the time unacceptable. Even if Diana was told at the time by Charles, that he didn't love her, which I read, (the night before the wedding), I think she thought in time, that he would grow to love her, particularly after they had children. The statement that Charles made that he was only unfaithful after the marriage had broke down is an absolute lie. He was seeing Camilla before the wedding, and during the wedding, and right after the breakup. It is so obvious. His friends assisted him in his trists. I have no respect for him or Camilla. Her because, maybe the marriage would have stood a chance, had she said, "No, this is over, you are married now." But no, she was always waiting in the wings, always waiting, with her arms, and everything else open. I hope his reign is short. Bring on Prince William and Princess Catherine. Then the Royal Institution will regain some dignity again. Am I a Princess Diana supporter, you bet. She did her job with no help and support, just thrown out there, and still she did it with grace, and dignity, and in my opinion with a heartfelt compassion. And was Charles proud of her, no just the opposite, he got jealous because of the attention and love she got from the people everywhere she went. The sad part of all this is after the marriage fell apart, she looked for love and understanding in all the wrong places, and I don't think she ever found it, because of now who she was , too famous for some. There are many reasons that King Charles shouldn't take the throne, let's start with his inability to show Harry or William the warmth they needed when Diana died. I saw that too. Extremely rude. I also saw Charles and Diana in person in Toronto. He was belittling her right in front of us, at City Hall. She left in tears and he darted off for the roundabout getting far away from her. When Princess Diana started the roundabout walk at the top of the garden, she was indundated with cheers and love from all the people including myself. Charles hated that...I think he made her cry by telling her to stay away from him so he could get some hoorays from the crowd. But the crowd knew to stay closer to Princess Diana. She was radiant and held out her hand to all, including mine. I will love that memory of her forever.

Camila is the least person who should be permitted to become queen. First: the horrible way he treated the unforgetable kind Diana from begining till the end of their marriage. Second: that despeakable woman - his mistress of all his life - he chose to marry (naturally only after Diana's murder, supposedly at his order and the Queen's approval) with the sole intention of making her 'queen-consort' which did finally happened but only after pressing/chantageando Queen Elizabeth for many months, perhaps years, until a few days before her death - whom was already extremelly week to say "no" - nevertheless to which given title the Queen didn't agree at all.Thank you.

Diana was stripped of her title by the late Queen, she herself was provably entertaining male 'friends' overnight before Charles went back to Camilla. There are a lot of justifiable questions about Harry being Charles's son, and if true, then Charles stood by him and Diana when he could have publicly humiliated them both. If Harry had not matched Charles' DNA, a story would have circulated that the baby had died in the early months, and he likely would have been shipped off to trusted friends. Diana referred to Harry as her "little Spencer" because his colouring was that of her siblings. Harry was born in 1984. All the history books state that Hewitt was introduced to Diana in 1986 and there are photos of Diana, William and Harry with Hewitt near horses. It took several aides several days to make her realise that Harry's rank had drastically changed following the birth of Prince George then again by birth of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. That Harry would never be king and she was then and always will be very much a minor Royal Family member while his brother and sister in law will one day take the throne. Thank The Good Lord Prince William was born first.
