favorite 4th of July quote: "You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die of happiness. You may think you have overeaten but its Patriotism. ~ Erma Bombeck :)

Betsy Ross didn't even design a US flag. That was a false rumor started by her descendents. Betsy Ross’ grandson, William Canby. However, based on letters and the congressional record at the time of the War for Independence, actual history reveals that the real designer of America’s first flag was a patriot named Francis Hopkinson. The original bell cast was not even made in Pennsylvania (good job), it was made in London, England, in 1752, by the company Lester and pack.

I know 3 adults personally that live at home with their parents and finances have nothing to do with why at least 2 of the 3 choose to move back in with their folks after a divorce. I think the primary so many single adults chose to live with their parents is loneliness. This isn't the case with married couples or single parents living at home, many of them chose to live at home because of the convenience of having free daycare at home, which is at least in part financially motivated.

It is not definitively known that the Liberty Bell cracked on February 22, 1846. In actuality, we don't know. The National Park Service suspects it most likely cracked when rung on February 22 (Washington's birthday) or July 4 in the years between 1841 and 1845. As for the misspelling, it reads "Pensylvania" rather than "Pennsylvania," which apparently was acceptable at the time.

Speaking of towns called Santa Claus- North Pole, Alaska (yes, it's a real place. It's on my driver's license) has Santa Claus on its city council. A real person. I forget his original given name, but the registered to vote citizens of North Pole would write in "Santa Claus" on ballots for years as a goof. Seeing this, the man legally changed his name and won a seat on the city council. He didn't campaign or even announce he was running at all. He won purely because people thought they were just having a laugh, but unwittingly voted for him.

They missed a prime opportunity on #21. Not only does the USA have the worlds largest Air Force, we also have the worlds 2nd largest Air Force: the United States Navy.

I live in Pennsylvania. And I didn't know that Pennsylvania is spell wrong on the Liberty Bell. And I love fact number 8. Since I have a huge love for pizza. And I tend to crave it quite often. And I am one American who absolutely hates coffee with a passion. The smell and let alone the taste of it makes me quite sick. I rather have tea and hot chocolate instead. I personally don't get how anyone can stand drinking the horrible nasty stuff. And I am 38 years old and I live with my mother and her husband. That is because of my health problems and learning disabilities. I am unable to live on my own.
