The Appaloosa wild horses are natives of the US, because they have been proved to be genetically linked to Mongolian wild horses, so they came over to the West coast of the North American continent via a prehistoric land bridge, along with the Native tribes of North, Central and South America.

I am a Mayflower Descendant, but don't belong to the Society. The Mayflower connection links many Americans to Presidents, First Ladies, Famous people, scholars, etc. I am in Northeastern Minnesota, but my mom grew up in central Wisconsin. My mom's mother is my link & it goes back 10 or so generations on North American soil (I am also 50% Finnish on my dad's side & a 3rd Generation Finnish American on that branch). I have a Daughter's of the American Revolution link too (can't afford to join it's society either) through my great great grandmother who was a Kellogg. She is listed in a book of the descendants of the original 4 Kellogg brother immigrants that was published in 1900. It's a pretty large book - I have a copy on a disk - I can imagine how huge it would be if someone published one today. My family is split from the cereal Kelloggs at the original 4 brother's branches - I looked it up for my mom 😉

@akashicvizion10 ай бұрын
Hullo there! I've always wanted to ask: would you happen to be related to the Daniel Estrin who works for NPR? It would explain the inclinations toward 'investigating' and 'reporting' ! As for visiting New York, I doubt anyone can top my story: in 2000, as a young sailor driving a '91 Geo Metro, I "pulled a U-ey" at 42nd Street & Broadway (and had terrified passengers who can attest to its veracity)!! And as for the 'perils of being President', you only mentioned the four who were *successfully* assassinated.... How about this list? > Two survivors of actual *lead*: After serving from 1901-1909, Teddy Roosevelt switched to the Progressive Party and was campaigning for the office again in 1912 when a fellow shot him at a not-too-close distance, but the bullet was slowed by his folded speech and metal glasses case... he spoke for 84 minutes with blood seeping into his shirt, but was not mortally wounded-- And Ronald Reagan, who in 1981 was hit, not by the accuracy of the shooter's aim, but by a *ricochet* off'n the *bulletproof limo*!! Both of these Presidential personas continued until their natural departure times.... BUT: there have been *many* unsuccessful attempts, some well-known, others not so much; read on! > Andrew Jackson - 1835 - both (single-shot) pistols of the would-be assassin misfired, at close range, whereby ol' Stonewall proceeded to beat the man mercilessly with his cane until they dragged away the perpetrator! > Wm. Howard Taft - 1909 - (along with Mexican President Porfino Diaz)- was less than 3' (1m) away from a man with a concealed palm pistol; captured by Mexican police... > Herbert Hoover - 1928 - while on a trip thru Chile, a plot to derail his train via explosives was thwarted... > F.D. Roosevelt (fifth cousin of Teddy!) - 1933 - five shots missed him, but one killed the Mayor of Chicago... > Harry S. Truman - two attempts: in 1947 and in 1950... > Richard Nixon - again, two attempts; in 1972 via handgun and in 1974 via DC-9 (an *airplane*!!) > Gerald Ford - two attempts... > Jimmy Carter - two attempts; the second was abandoned at the last minute and instead became the assault on Ronald Reagan! > George H. W. Bush - 1993... > Bill Clinton - 6 attempts... > George W. Bush - 2005 & 2022... > Barack Obama - 6 attempts... (anyone else notice a pattern against Demonrats?) > Donald Trump - 2 attempts... > Joe Biden - 1 attempt (so far, and that we *know* of!!) So there are *plenty* of possible future 'List 25' topics to consider-- (You're Welcome!) -- Keep on keepin' on, and as always, Blessed Be, & Peace! 🙏☮

I can not believe anyone thought the modern horses including wild mustangs were native to the US. No one in my grade school would have been misinformed thus. I would understand Americans perchance not knowing the first prehistoric horse relatives probably originated on their continent. A large range of many sizes (some very small)😅 and toe configurations roamed North America from 55 million years ago to a final extinction a mere 10,000 years ago.
