Hi Harley your advice is so true. I rode for 4 hours yesterday and had one of the best fucking days of my life. The weather was amazing and I just slugged so so much carbs orange juice, dried fruit and a cheap sports drink where what fuelled me lol and it was just carbs and I just spun out high cadence and felt super good and I woke up today and my legs feel fresh it is so true carbs for muscle recovery leg recovery all of that glycogen just fuels the muscle not oh protein protein. lol I used to be like that and my legs felt trashed when I was slamming back shakes etc if you eat carbs it is better than protein for muscle recovery I believe out of personal experience ❤

I came across DR's video late 2013; it was 30min+ videos about power meters and eating enough carbs. Early 2014, I switched to a vegan, hi-carb, lifestyle and never looked back. People are always intriged why I look so fit, young and energic; Sleep-water-sugar-being active is the key! THANKS HARLEY!

It is still possible to overeat carbs and sugar. For the past three months, I went exactly by Harley’s protocol and I noticed if I overindulge, I gain weight, much harder than I would with a fat rich conventional diet though, but I still do. The most important thing in this diet is to eat enough carbs to keep your blood sugar nice and high. Obviously if you go for intense workouts, you need a lot more and if you sitting on your bum, a lot less! The moment the blood sugar falls, your nasty self comes out! Angry, winging, no focus, no energy, no nothing! As a former keto/carnivore idiot, this is the best change I have made to my diet overall.

My Mom is a sugar phobic.... one of those ya know? She won't even put ANY maple syrup on her PANCAKES...too much sugar she says, no sugar, she says, sugar's bad. But then she contradicts herself with all the sweet treats/pastries/cookies/cakes/tarts etc. etc. etc. LOL She never not has those treats in the house...she eats them like there going out of style. What a contradiction!!!! It's quite annoying...

Cacao is a poison, sugar isn't . That's interesting. II think I came to this conclusion from eating a tobleron a day and being depressed as fuck the next day. Milk chocolate hits the brain like a drug in the moment, but next day you pay the price. I think very small amount is good but it's hard to control yourself around it. Btw professional athletes are not the best examples for a healthy lifestyle. They are money making parts in a big machine.

You may just be allergic to milk. I found it gave me depression for a day after eating it. Never got depression from non-dairy chocolate. Cacao is not straight poison, but relying on caffeine every day the way many people do is bad.

During my time in Canada, I wolfed down 7 high carb oatmeal banana pancakes drenched in maple syrup twice a day, and my energy for workouts, trails, hiking etc were never ending, go crazy, you won't regret it

There is no difference in getting 8 hours of sleep from 12am to 8am than there is from 8pm to 5am. And if I went to bed at 8 pm, I would still not get up until 8 am. I hate getting up early.

eating enough calories is, staying hydrated with carbohydrates. Sugar is ph neutral. Honey is acid ph. Protein and fat are acidic.

I’ve been eating this way a long time, most people don’t gain weight, but even if you do at first, it’s so worth it to get off the diet merry go round and stabilize your mood.
