Great suggestions, I use a bunch of these and I agree these are next-to must-haves. If I were to recommend at least one it would be Dark Mode for Terminals; being blinded by screens while playing in a dark room made me not want to open screens.

Great to see vids like this. Would love to see more! Piggybacking off of your flashlight tech comment, you’d think a world this advanced would also have a basic coordinate system. Can’t wait for that mod! A suggestion as a new era begins. Maybe state which mods need script extender, lots of new mod users are surprised when their downloaded mod won’t work with game pass.

High-Vis Crosshairs is one of my favs. I mainly play stealth and distance shooting so it's much easier and realistic.

I’m running every one of these with an exception of reshade which I use photorealistic with neutral lut. A few I’d add that I can’t live without now are - slightly better map icons and slightly better weapon icons. Along with StarUI Configurator.

As someone who has never modded a game except for how you can mod skyrim through the main menu, what is a good guide to start modding for real. The mods available through the actual game seem very limited compared to what I always see in these videos. Glad to see people out here still supporting this game. I remember skyrim when it first came out and I have veneers high hopes for this game in the next few years!!

The in game colour filters are supposed to represent atmospheric based colours.

13:13 The problem here is that only Old Earth weapons should have casings eject at all. All of the regular ballistic weapons use Caseless ammo.

That mod only applies to Old Earth style weapons, so you don't have to worry about other weapons uncharacteristically ejecting casings.

In No Man's Sky, we had the ability to call another starship or our current ship to our location, meaning we could switch ships on the fly. In Starfield, if you dock to a ship, kill off it's crew, then make that ship your Home Ship, then you see your ship fly away home.... Does it do that Remotely, or is there someone on board? Why can't you just have that same function Bring you a ship? Glad someone made a mod that does Just That!

To add to that, the inventory should stay with each ship. Would love to see a battle cruiser size or freighter like NMS as well. I want a space base, and ships to fly off of it. hmmm, would help with lore for ship swapping as well. You can only call down ships that are in your base ship in orbit. ah, the possibilities

Great vids, i suggest a video about water, water is so bad in Starfield there are some good mods already out there like latest Lunar Water is pretty good, maybe you should do a comparison video about it so people will go by preferences and also cause some water mods cover everything ( like water falls and foam ) other don't

I just wish the planets weren’t so barren. In Fallout 4 you had ghouls and everything else, but now you have a herd of aliens every 500ft so that’s not fun.

Hi I want to start by saying I love your showcase you have a good eye for choosing really great mods. As for starfield well while the mods you showed are great and was needed, it is time to address the elephant in the room, what is really missing from starfield......... more quest mods are desperately needed and more mods for outpost and settlement building. And yeah so you can produce all these items, yeah so who buy's them??? Where do you sell them. What I would love to see is more mods regarding that aspect of the game.

The UI screams. "we hate PC players, this is a terrible PC port from console. We hate you, go to h$$ PC players!" Try moving dozens of wires and links in an outpost with a keyboard.... You can't just place objects wires etc with a mouse like a normal person. It's unusable! A ln insult to PC players.

You do? I don't remember needing to fix oblivion or skyrim, nor fallout 4. You're confusing "needing to fix" with "being able to fix". In most games I have features that I dislike and would like to change; what makes Bethesda games different is that they allow people to (and have the community willing to) change those things. Sadly not many companies are as open to modding as Bethesda; maybe because of people like you who view modding as this uninspired thing that is only used to fix bad features.

I will have to test out some of these mods.. but I will say having a 3070 paired with a 3440x1440p ultrawide is rough. I play the game on low settings at the moment just to get over 60 FPS.

I'm also using a 3070 running on mostly high game settings and get consistently above 60 FPS, although I'm on a 2560x1440 display. The only mod mentioned in the video that should have a noticeable impact on fps is the reshade mod. It cost me roughly 5 fps on average, so I'd recommend not using that one if your tight on fps.

I used the mod to craft ammo since it came out but recently disabled it. It just made getting rare ammo to easy for me. I know it's subjective and I'm not saying the mod is bad it's just that for me finding vendors that sell the ammo, or looting it, just feels better to me. I'm also the person that doesn't fast travel, I even walk through my ship eveytime. So obviously I'm insane 🙂

Call Your Ship mod has been superseded by the "Summoning of Ship" mod by wSkeever, which has a much better implementation compared to "Call Your Ship" mod. wSkeever, in general, has an excellent set of mods

Wskeever 's "ship script" patch fixes a massive bug that stops npc 's spawning in ships and thus causes the "matters of the hart" quest to be uncompletable. This modder is a legend, saved the game for me !!

I must say Summoning of Ship is hard to install correctly on an existing save. It doesn't add the controlling item to the inventory in some cases. It is very capricious when assessing if the chosen spot is flat enough for landing. Call Your Ship is, on the other hand, is failproof.

I use the mod Baka Achievement Enabler to keep achievements from being disabled after adding mods. As far not breaking your game, you can avoid a lot of issues by doing your due diligence by reading the mod page descriptions before installing.

i installed the ui and menu mods pretty early on so don't remember the vanilla version. It is staggering to see the vanilla version now and realize just how bad it is and how, not just good, but OBVIOUS the mod solutions are. most of the mods I use are actually just adding in features that should have been in the game in the first place. I like this game but it sure as hell wasn't done and i am sure the devs knew it. They figures, and they are right, that modders will fix the game.

My understanding of the workbench ammo manufacturing restrictions is that they weigh nothing. Because of this, if a player were to manufacture a thousand rounds, they could sell all of them and they wouldn't take up space on the ship at all. This would be a game breaking, infinite credit method, which is why they don't allow it.

They should make a mod for the docking cutscenes that just reduces it to the part where the ports connect or detach and not the entire approach or departure. Same with taking off in a way, I’m fine with the landing but I don’t need to see the whole leaving the part after the takeoff I can understand the cutscenes as a design choice, as annoying as they are, but idk why they made them so long

The only mod that should have noticeable impact on FPS is the reshade mod, which cost me on average about 5 FPS

Two quick questions: 1. Are All of these available to be installed from Nexus using Nexus Mod Manager? 2. Most Skyrim mods needed a third party script extender "SKSE". Is there some similar common library that is needed by starfield in order to install these mods? Or can they simply be installed as is?

All these can be installed with the mod manager of your choice whether that be NMM, Vortex, or MO2. Some of these do require the script extender, a good rule of thumb is to check the requirement section on the mod page before you install it.

@@DoctorNostalgiaMods I am a veteran mod user with Vortex (what I meant to say in my original comment) for Skyrim, but hadn't used it in many months. Based on this video and your reply, I have now updated my Vortex install, made the game moddable (with the custom .ini file), installed SFSE and the Address Library, and installed many of your recommended mods. Very appreciative!

I can't wait for the call your ship to you for Xbox. It's a feature that literally made no sense to me. You have possibly have crew members left on your ship why can't they fly the ship to you or even require us to have a additional crew member that has a piloting skill to unlock the calling ship feature I can't be the only person I can fly my ship

I really hope console gets access to these mods. Especially call your ship. NMS did it, i have no idea why Bethesda didnt include that in the vanilla game. Also someone should make a mod that speeds up dialogue. People talk SO FN SLOW in this game.

Im not so sure about the shell casing mod. Most of the weapons in the game are caseless, like the maelstrom. It doesn't really make sense for it to be spitting out caseless shell casings.

Those animations... I just can't believe how Bethesda can have playtested this game and still think that the cockpit getting up/sitting down animation is a good thing 🤦‍♂
