1. Listening instead of speaking. 2. Losses /mistakes are normal lessons and a chance to learn and grow. 3. Get ready that the worst can happen. No fear but accept the unknown change. . 4. Wealth can cause moral values to stray. Happiness comes from living a good and worthwhile life. 5. Don’t become stuck on a single dream. Diversify. Learn & grow/ hobbies. 6. Real wealth is in being grateful. The search for more does not bring inner peace. The attitude of gratitude. 7. Life is short and unsure. We all die. Enjoy the moments. YOUR time and energy should go to building relationships. 8. Become detached from the material world. Live honestly. Focus on what is important, not the material things. 9. Accept what we cannot change. Concentrate on what you CAN change. Face the truth and deal with it. React to things is key. Be your BEST version of yourself. We MAKE our lives. Choices!!! Push to grow. 10. Stay calm in difficult situations. Focus. Breathe. 11. Moderation and balance. Temperance. A balance of wants and needs. 12. Being real and honest. Be balanced. Be honest. Build the core principles of Trust and respect. Spread the kindness.

I didn't know how to deal with the toxic behavior of an abusive spouse so I kept telling a close female friend of the family. She, through her onesided response, closer to him, was not really my friend but his. I have learned and moving on happily since I accepted what I couldn't change.

You're not supposed to deal with toxic behavior from a spouse. The answer is to throw away the spouse

I'm so glad to hear that you’ve learned and grown from it. It takes a lot of strength to accept what can’t be changed and to move forward with a sense of peace. Recognizing who truly has your back is a powerful step, and I’m proud of you for reclaiming your happiness. May you continue to heal, grow stronger, and surround yourself with genuine love and support moving forward. 💖✨

Stoic principles remind me of Islamic principles. You are talking about gratitude, The first word of the Quran is Alhumdulillah which means all praises and all thanks are for our Lord, God, Allah

I believe you mean to say “Epictetus” not “Epicurus”.
