Ive beaten this game on whoa mode and have over 200 hours and never realized that there is a rock to blow up to get into the upper yard. Back before 1.0 I always just made a stair case up and continue to do so lmao

It's really not that good anyway because after a while that rock respawn, so you're always better off building a way up.

Shields decrease damage by 20%. If you’re gonna use a shield use the fire ant shield.

Little tip for the oak tree base: STABILIZE YOUR BASE WITH SUPPORTS! One good bug attack could mean losing your entire base, so either make ash walls for supports or mushroom brick walls.

Speaking from experience, IF that does happen to you... Stay calm, log out and quit and load a slightly older save. You might lose a tiny bit of progress but not your entire base👌Saved my 2000+ piece oak fortress this way, mosquitoes and wasps can be a real pain for the floating platform style bases.

Does it even make sense to build a defend at the base and defend walls etc im first time playin with friends on like day 20 or sum but we had had two attacks from ants and that was like 4 ants or sum so it was really eas

I built stem frame staircases to circumvent any obstacle I came across, before I discovered the ease of clay. Many times I found the entrance point, like the boulder, _much_ later on. Many more times I got burned, like at the shed porch in the upper yard (near the Javamatic) where I built a quick staircase within 60 CM of a natural existing transition

When harvesting pupa hides that you have to shoot down, block-cancel to rapid fire with a crossbow to shoot them down insanely quick You get a damage penalty for doing it in combat _(so don't!),_ but you only have to do 1 damage to drop a hide, so you don't have to wait for your character to reload their cross bow.

but they fixed the animation cancel because it was basically exploit so what they did is the first 2 hits deal less damage and the third hit deals the bigger chunk now but if your canceling it all the time your cutting the big chunk of your damage output off

Early game tip for abundant food & weevil shield resources consisting of 4 weevil meat.. Just drop a normal edible mushroom top on the ground then give it a minute or two.. :) This can also attract ants. Ants TWOC things especially attracted to cooking spits & they'll break containers containing food.. Weevils will also break containers in order to TWOC stored mushrooms if containers are within reach..! Avoidable if storage containers are stored on a shelf, elevated at least 1 wall high.

8:28 You can't stack all meal effects but if you eat a tier 3 meal then a tier 2 meal afterwards it will only overwrite one of the effects, so you can kinda combine them. blahable has a good post on reddit about it. Good tips!

I think they changed it. I used to mix the meals all the time but now it seems kinda random. It used to have one of the tier III effects replaced by the tier II. But now sometimes it gets fully replaced or the top effect is replaced. Before 1.3 the tier III bottom effect was always replaced.

In the games setting you can turn off the distance blur from high, medium and low. Low is the setting i use to reduce the blur

You can but you get the 'rough reload' debuff which reduces bow damage by a TON!
