Favorite album and rap group of all time. For that reason, watching this video is the biggest gift I have given to myself.

Man I had no idea someone else had such a fascination with this LP just like myself! You got it down the lines your where talking about are so fucking dope! absolutely lovely review of this album first time seeing you on youtube subbed for sure ✌️ And to your refrence to rhem being simelar in style as Kool Keith, they where doing simelar rap styles "acid rap" stype shit where stuff was always kinda had double entendres in there raps ..

Just occurred to me listening to your break down of J Treds on Collude/Intrude that football coaches use X's and O's to diagram plays, and I don't know if Treds was purposefully double entendre-ing that when he said Tic-Tac-Toe, either way it just kind of shows how dense the lyrics get when rappers of that caliber are locked in.

Also fyi at the beginning of Legends El is saying "Vanglorious" and "Sissy" which are references to X-Clan (a Legendary group)

A friend lent me this Album with its Space style with El P's fast lyrics style. I listened to it in 2002 though it was released 5 years earlier ,I was 16 when it was released but didnt know it. I like Population Control ,Legends,Last good Sleep a great rare style for the period.

Population Control probably favourite track and top 10 rap songs for me. Coming out of the crazy sample track (can't remember name) before it into that acapella intro and the whole track the first time, that blew me away lol

First impression of Co Flow and Funcrusher Plus is being floored, it's my new favourite El-P work after listening to a lot of RTJ, and Bigg Jus is a new amazing rapper to me through this album! Ty for the reaction!

And still nobody can hold a candle to El-P, in his entire back catalogue of tracks features etc there isn't a single stinker amongst them. And not to forget what is easily the greatest and most savage diss rap ever created Linda Tripp (which was in response to Sole's diss track "Dear Elpee") kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGOTpaycgLx9gdksi=64Yyqr-UL2jmC0Yn

The only not pick I'll make us your miss on the vainglorious reference, which was I believe was a nod to the X-clan's brother j in the early 90s who started verses with that word

Funcrusher OG came in '95 but Lune Tns, fire in which you burn gave the "plus" Lp in 97 that far out dopeness. Rugged like rwanda!

I had heard about the Funcrusher EP that came out in 95 but looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I was in Canada and checking HMV lol. Had no clue it was only available on vinyl as I was only checking the CD section. However once the "Plus" CD came out in '97, that one was available as HMV here was carrying all of the Rawkus Records releases like Soundbombing and Lyricist Lounge so it was easier to get.

Not true about the album. There was another album called Funcrusher. 6 tracks I believe. Funcrusher Plus is ahead if it's time. This album was a game changer in 97. One of the most influential hip hop albums of all time. This album should be celebrated as 50 years of hiphop. Underground rap should be given its rightful place in the rap game. Big Juss doesn't get enough credit as well.
@pacmancalgary2 ай бұрын
Was the Funcrusher EP only available on vinyl? I looked all over for it but never found it, but the "Plus" album was a lot easier to find in Canada back in 97/98.
