This timeline theory is great, but here's another that I accept, a 3-way split: (don't worry, it's not as complicated as Zelda, i swear) *SNES Timeline (James falls in the Black Hole)* Star Fox > Star Fox 2 *Reboot Timeline (James is betrayed by Pigma, Andross is exiled to Venom)* Star Fox 64 > Farewell Beloved Falco > Star Fox Adventures > Star Fox Assault > Star Fox Command *Zero Timeline (James is betrayed by Pigma, Andross is exiled to the black hole)* Star Fox Guard > Star Fox Zero > Any new Star Fox games (until the inevitable third reboot)

It’s sad that Nintendo basically killed Star Fox due to sheer incompetence. Hopefully fan games like UndyingNephilim’s Star Fox Event Horizon and Esphirian’s StarFox Adventures Retconning FanGame (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHioeIObhMSFjpI) wiill be the way forward; hopefully Nintendo doesn’t stomp these like they do everything good. As for the timeline someone in the comments suggested that there’s three timelines, and I agree with that. My favorite is the 64 timeline minus command. Whoever thought command was a good idea needs to be castrated with a weedwacker. In my head canon it ends with assault and takes only the best of commands endings as canon (while ignoring everything else about that game’s story).

Everything after 64 needs to be completely retconed with a new installment that actually moves the series forward. There’s so much that could be done in the Star Fox universe but Nintendo (or specifically, Miyamoto) just don’t want to do it because...who knows?? It’s just like the Half Life 3 situation.
