I placed an order for the Aria last week; it's still in shipping. I had also considered the HB, but after hearing the Aria on another presentation video I really fell for the sound. The single coil gives it a snappiness and the Humbucker sounds nearly identical to the HB, but less muddy . I also prefer the looks of the Aria. I hope the scale length isn't too much of an obstacle. I'm very tall (2 meters) with fairly large hands so it should be a bit easier for me. Thanks for the comparison.

I recommend dialing back on the gain for your high gain settings. It’s so broken up you can’t make out notes. Granted this is a baritone guitar, but we don’t have to use a death metal tone. If that’s your cup of tea then that’s great, but in general to clarify notes and have it pain halfway decent, dial back on the gain and treble, turn down your bass essentially all the way, and keep your mods exactly at noon

To my ears the Aria had much more clarity with higher gain.

Aria wins, it has a characteristic Strat tone and chime, the HB sounds dull it has almost dead tone. If you're comfortable playing in drop D tuning, Every Breath You Take is so easy to play in drop D (on the baritone it would be drop A). That's my standard tuning, I can play everything easier in drop D. I'm planning to buy this Aria I liked it a lot from what I've seen on youtube videos. I'd like to play it more like an electric piano rather than normal guitar, meaning arpeggiate jazzy chords and play bass+chord melodies.

Pickups in the Benton sound better, but that pick attack on the Aria is SUPER important for low tuning. That snappiness you get from the longer neck helps kill the muddiness when tuning low as well.
