If you were to get a baritone, what would your preferred scale length be?
@LexJones Жыл бұрын
I found that 27"/28" to be pretty comfortable, I have a SRC6 (The original not MS) and that is 30", after a while I found I was not so keen and was going to my Jericho 27" more often.
@Nemo-Ingen Жыл бұрын
I have a 27" and a 30", both are great for different tunings and styles, think I prefer the 27" overall though, feels more like a guitar, less than a short scale bass with too many strings.

28.5 is perfect

Probably 27"~28" that seems to be the standard for baritone guitars. BTW Schecter has a bass VI model, the Hellcat VI at 30"

These things were so ahead of their time. I remember being kinda bummed it wasn't an affordable 27" option because there weren't any on the market back then besides the Mushok PRS.

Excellent demo and playing as always! And I would honestly consider looking into these, I started loving recently how just E standard sounds when layered with an octave lower (usually using a pedal/plugin so far) and I wondered how that would sound with this, but also it looks and sounds awesome and fun to just play by itself. I also love 7-strings, but also completely agree with the sentiment that a baritone 6 just *feels* different and different things just come out while playing. And yeah, I have two Schecters, they're great.

For the past two decades I have been the proud owner of an original Schecter Diamond Series C-1 Plus in black cherry. It has a 24-3/4" scale length neck with 24 medium size frets. It is an excellent guitar for drop C tuning. This modern version C-VI is very intriguing to me. Excellent review. Thank you for sharing.

It's a 30 inch scale 6 string guitar. If you put heavy strings and tune it down a full octave, it's a bass vi. If you put lighter strings on and tune it somewhere in between, it's a baritone.

Do you think that a "reverse headstock" design makes any significant difference regarding string tension and tone?
@SonicDriveStudio Жыл бұрын
Don't know tbh
@darlyngton_nyc Жыл бұрын
Scale length is the distance from the nut to the bridge. Headstock length doesn't add tone or tension.
@picksalot1 Жыл бұрын
@@darlyngton_nyc String Length is the distance from the "fixed points" where the string is tied down, the tuners and the somewhere past the saddles. That does affect string tension.
@darlyngton_nyc Жыл бұрын
@@picksalot1 yeah those fixed points are the nut and the bridge, not the tuners and beyond.
@picksalot1 Жыл бұрын
@@darlyngton_nyc Actually, those are just just "pinch points" not unlike frets. They are not fixed in the sense of where the strings tie to, which determines "string length.
