If you were to get a baritone, what would your preferred scale length be?
@LexJones

I found that 27"/28" to be pretty comfortable, I have a SRC6 (The original not MS) and that is 30", after a while I found I was not so keen and was going to my Jericho 27" more often.

I have a 27" and a 30", both are great for different tunings and styles, think I prefer the 27" overall though, feels more like a guitar, less than a short scale bass with too many strings.

Probably 27"~28" that seems to be the standard for baritone guitars. BTW Schecter has a bass VI model, the Hellcat VI at 30"

Excellent demo and playing as always! And I would honestly consider looking into these, I started loving recently how just E standard sounds when layered with an octave lower (usually using a pedal/plugin so far) and I wondered how that would sound with this, but also it looks and sounds awesome and fun to just play by itself. I also love 7-strings, but also completely agree with the sentiment that a baritone 6 just *feels* different and different things just come out while playing. And yeah, I have two Schecters, they're great.

For the past two decades I have been the proud owner of an original Schecter Diamond Series C-1 Plus in black cherry. It has a 24-3/4" scale length neck with 24 medium size frets. It is an excellent guitar for drop C tuning. This modern version C-VI is very intriguing to me. Excellent review. Thank you for sharing.

For a bartione, I feel that the tone in the demo didn't have enough definition in the low end. Was this a creative choice in the mixing process? I am not familiar with those pickup, but I know that amp. If the mid boost was on, that could have been the reason the tone was too mid focused. All subjective but just my opinion.

Dunno, your 6th string sounds muddier than mine, maybe you should've used overdrive pedal to boost/compress the signal. Out of your er-guitars, m80m and sc608b sound clearer than this. Situation is I also have all three of them and C-VI way sharper/sparklier than others.

It's a 30 inch scale 6 string guitar. If you put heavy strings and tune it down a full octave, it's a bass vi. If you put lighter strings on and tune it somewhere in between, it's a baritone.

@mattwhite399
@mattwhite399 Жыл бұрын
The longer the neck, the more clear and bell-like the tone is at the same tuning. It’s also better with intonation as you tune lower and lower. If you’re trying to tune to E, you will be happiest with a 30” scale. I own a 28” baritone. It does fine with F standard, but I wish it was longer so the tone would be more clear.
