Not gonna lie, knackered gear linkage aside, that Skoda was a mental bargain at that mileage and trim for £150. Would be interested to know exactly what the gearbox issue was and how much it cost to fix.

Dave this was a funny video! It was a great video to show detailers the difference the right chemicals, waxes and tools can make on any car. 150 Quid is a "STEAL" of a deal and poor Matt. The machine polishing looked fantastic and one sure way to get rid of the smell from the foul rain water is to fix the sunroof leak and use an ozone generator or ClO2 chlorine dioxide odor remover. You need to read and follow the directions for the best results but this will get rid of any smell and sanitize the car. Have a great day and thank you again for a superb video. You could actually make a video on the ClO2 odor remover and it could be funny and very helpful to detailers who can't afford an ozone generator or need to remove some nasty foul smelling odors.

Thank you we had such a laugh making this one. Picking up the car was hilarious. I cleaned it back in September then It got dumped behind the stables on the farm so it sat there and basically so much moisture built up it became quite mouldy again lol

I like how youre breaking down costs properly, even if you dont pay yourself to clean it, the products still cost money and the insurance. makes a change from alot of car youtubers who dont add these figures. Also the thumnail is what caught my attention while scrolling.... subscribed from now.

Had this problem on my 1972 Capri when stored over the winter. Its an easy fix. Push it out onto a clear road or track. Place it in gear with engine off. Start it up with revs and it will launch itself forward but that should free the stuck clutch. Its nothing serious and needs no new parts etc.

Amazingly we fixed it and gave it a new MOT which it passed 🚗

Well done to you dave, it’s a bargain and if it costs a couple of hundred to fix the gear linkage and put a fresh mot on it your still quids in! Second hand cars have gone through the roof and someone will buy it. But would recommend once it’s been repaired use a smoke machine inside with a deodoriser that should get rid of the horrid smell👍.

Its only a stuck clutch plate and can be fixed by starting in gear on a clear road. A few revs and pumping of the pedal with free it. If my 72 Capri can be fixed by doing that this skoda can easily. Hope that helps.

Master cylinder or slave cylinder for ur gearbox issue try chanuing the brake fluid 1st if its been sat ages it could have moisture in the brake and clutch fluid

Check if it goes into 2nd and if you can slip the clutch and move off. If you can’t engage first at all I’d say slave cylinder is shot or if you can engage 1st 2nd but doesn’t move etc your driveshaft is gone

that skoda seems to be the natural enemy of autoalex high milage octavia. 25k miles, the very nice 1.8T, octavia in red vs. a 460k miles diesel in a blue one :D

Thank you for your comment. Did we copy an idea that has already been around? Yes 100% the cheap car challenges are fun so we just thought what the heck nothing to lose, we didn't expect any views so we just press record and go so kinda shocked at these views as it is. We're filming an f type tomorrow for different content so the aim is to bring a mixed bag of content. We definitely don't want to copy but we will take an idea and make it better if we can 🙏🙏
