If anyone wants to make a good chai at home, here is what my family uses: ginger, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, whole black peppercorns, and of course the black tea leaves… All whole spices, no powders. You can mash them a little in a pestle and mortar but not too much that’s it’s all powder. Dry toast all the spices first for a few minutes, take it off the heat, and slowly add your milk/water mixture, then put it back on the heat and bring to a boil before adding tea leaves and sugar. Gently simmer for another 5-10 mins after adding tea leaves… strain and enjoy!

Good morning/afternoon David. It's 4:30 am Friday here in Toronto and I have just finished watching the video. Not much to say about the food because what you see is what you get. However, I was happy to finally see fish on the menu. You have taught your friends a lot about Indian food. Loved Omar Gooding, and Mimi was tha bomb with her sense of humor. I am still amazed that some people don't know how to eat with their hands/fingers. Maybe they should watch how toddlers use theirs😋😆. Anyway, the way to making all these put-together docs a success is in the continuity of content, something that you and your team do very well. Kudos and wishing you all continued success. So what's next eh? ❤️🙏🕊️🇹🇹🇨🇦

Once again, David, I’m so hungry watching you guys. I may have to order some Indian food at least now I know a little bit more about the dishes. I want to see you guys eating tacos, but I know this is all Indian food. But the guy made the taco sound so good. I was looking forward to seeing that as well.

Yeah most parts of India, we don’t eat rice with our hands, that’s more of a Pakistani thing or very southern India. We use spoons for rice, and the curries. Doesn’t matter if it’s plastic or metallic, etc. I don’t know where he heard that from. Probably a smaller part of India or from someone from a smaller village/city in India. We don’t break the naan with one hand only, that’s not necessary, some people just do it out of habit cuz it’s easy for them. I’m from India and I’ve never done that. 🧐🧐

Mr. David (I presume), please eat the way you want but do not insult India with your blanket comment. I am from the Northern part of India and our eating habits are a bit different. Firstly, what you call "biryani" we call it "palao". Your "biryani" is more common in South India. If you want to know what biryani looks like and tastes like you need to come to the northern part of India. Secondly, we prefer to eat with a spoon. In certain Southern parts of India, they usually eat with their hands. Thirdly, we do not mix our rice/biryani in the way you do. That again is a South Indian tradition. Licking fingers is disgusting, at least for us. Finally, we use both hands when we break the naan/roti. Get your facts correct before you comment on India and Indians. Or, at least, say that: "In some parts of India......"

So David wants to open his own Indian cuisine restaurant? Oh, but wait, he's forgetting one very teensy but very crucial detail, he is not Indian! If he actually gets in to the gastro industry, his best bet would be to start his own line of frozen microwavable entrees and then he can eat all the curry he wants and make money in the process.
@kaushikdeykd7 ай бұрын
My dear restaurant owner, please don't call Biriyani that type of food. It's like chicken n rice mixture. And nun is used to becked in tandoor, not in tawa, like that.
@SubhankarData Жыл бұрын
That's not biriyani, looks more like risotto. That's the saddest naan I've seen. Those just look like Mexican food with Indian flavours. Just revolting. If you want to make Mexican food, call it that. Why do you need to downgrade Indian food like this?
@Blueskies1180 Жыл бұрын
OMG Mimi goes into an Indian home dressed like that! Geeeeez. 😖😖😖 David you gotta practice not spilling food all over the place when you’re taking it from the dish. I know you can do it. And it’s OK if you use spoons to put the curries onto your naan or roti! That’s how most Indians eat.

That biryani .. was truly a black spot on biryani... I feel sorry for the Americans who eat those so called biryani in the name of real biryani..... I would suggest Indian restaurants over there please serve either authentic biryani or don't serve....
