$250 MASSIVE SEAFOOD BOIL CHALLENGE | King Crab, Lobster & Crab Legs | Texas Seafood Challenge

SO MUCH SEAFOOD! king crab, snow crab, shrimp, lobster, all the best seafood boil items! Today we are in Houston Texas Taking on a spicy seafood boil challenge. This giant seafood boil , different than a Louisiana seafood boil, as it’s smothered in a flavoured butter / oil , had some delicious spices to our preference and choice, including option for a very spicy seafood boil! There was a strong Chinese influence in today’s Chinese seafood boil with their Chinese spice options. And this place also offers Chinese barbecue. We had 60 minutes in order to get the meal for free. Otherwise we’d be paying $250 for the challenge. Gao’s crab also offers an all you can eat seafood, which is amazing in addition to their à la carte menu. But it’s not a seafood buffet it’s all you can eat crab and such to order! As a lifetime seafood and shellfish fanatic, this is probably the only challenge I've ever seen you do that made me think I might have a shot! Pro tip for eating snow and king legs - separate each leg at the joints fully before cracking into the leg segments. That will pull the tendon things out of the meat and ensure that you get those big chunks of meat out of each leg section when you open them! So jealous of this feast, that is my kind of place

It's totally worth the struggle devouring a feast of shell fish. All that hard work makes it taste all the sweeter. And digging in with your hands is just satisfying on a primal level - there are no rules!! Toss me a bib and gloves, I'm in and wearing all of it!!

I don't mean to sound corny but I was feeling crabby and had a shellfish attitude today. My friends asked me why and I clammed up and just couldn't talk. Then I got mussel cramps to top it all off. Joel: Shrimp technique. First. Strongly pinch the legs together and remove them. Next, run your finger between the meat and shell after the legs have been removed to loosen it. Finally, squeeze the tail just where the meat ends. The entire shell will come right off in one piece.

If the shell is soft enough on those shrimp just eat the shell. It’s all delicious and won’t hurt when going down that way you don’t have to struggle peeling them. Love the vids as always
