I have the 2001 suburban 2500 8.1L. It was my daily driver for 8 years. Still going strong at 230k miles. Of course the gas mileage sucks but that’s not why you buy them. They’re absolute work horses and you feel like king of the road.

Yeah it has cloth seats because the leather ones fall apart just like mine did in my 2001 Chevy suburban
@suboverland Жыл бұрын
Cloth is a good option but we repair all the leather seats when they need them.

Thanks for the video. How is the Goal Zero secured in-place? Are those custom made hooks you drilled into the floorboard for the straps? I dont remember seeing those on any other Suburban. Thanks.

Just an observation, but how secure is that under bed storage, when the screws are exposed when locked? Otherwise a very VERY nice build, & truck.

It's secure 👍

We are in the process of making one for 73-91 Suburbans.

The 8.1 is a good motor for a modern big block. Only problem with them is when you start adding power adders like a turbo, the stock bottom end doesn't hold up very well.

Could you please start showing the 2007 to 2013 Suburban builds. I prefer the 320 horse power, 6 speed, front strut rear 5 link suspension Suburban’s. The 6L80 transmission has a much lower 1st gear and now that we know plugging in a Range Technology dongle V4 disabler makes them last, it’s a no brainer.

Hopefully we'll start doing more of those in the future

Seems like a big rig. Did the owner want to remove the back seats or was it needed to make the bed fit?
@suboverland3 жыл бұрын
The owner didn't want the seats in. We offer up to 5 seats for our builds with platforms.

8.1? So that's what, 6 mpg lol
@ojaiguru3 жыл бұрын
I get 17 to 18 in a '99 7.4/454 if I cruise between 55 and 60. That's per hooking it up to OBD2 monitor and verified at the pump. If you cruise over 65 mph it goes down fast. This is with 4.10 axles, not 3.73s. My dad used to have 8.1 Silverado and it was 9-10, but he had a heavy foot. With a giant 5th wheel he'd start hitting 6, but towing at about 70 mph.
