It's nice to see someone else not using those dinky connectors with heat shrink on them. You could also use a little sealant on the joint before installing the heat shrink, at least between those parallel wires where the glue doesn't penetrate too well. Thanks for sharing.

@willthacker51824 жыл бұрын
you can also remove any three female pins, that will fit on the crank sensor male pins, and crimp them on to three lengths of wire. Then just plug each one to each of the three pins in the sensor, and fill it with epoxy. Then you can put any style connector on the three wires coming out of the crank sensor. The epoxy will hold up to heat, and isolate each wire. Its done often in motor sports on stuff like air sensors and map sensors, where they wanna use bulk connectors.
@denisohbrien4 жыл бұрын
I had to do this on my car when i converted to coil on plug as there was no room for the proper plugs. the problem was, coils burn out fairly regular, so i had to keep a "prepared" coil on hand with pigtail. If its a weekend warrier its no big deal, but this technique on a daily is a pain in the ass when a sensor fails.

If you got really tight shrink tube What I like to do is use a pair of the really thin needle nose pliers and put the tube over it and pull open the pliers. It will stretch the tube bigger and you can get the tube over without tearing it. It will shrink the same as normal. A lot of time I find the tubes you buy always seem to be in between the sizes I need lol.

I have figured out all mounting aspects of my LS swap, but am trying to see how my truck will be if I cut the engine harness, and add the holley terminator. Will I still be able to use my ignition switch and key or will it need to be separate? Will all my headlights and lights and everything still work? I am not worried about the instrument cluster, just curious about all the other factory ins and outs.

Matt probably does not want to post such things on his site or under his name with the current situation on the government going after the aftermarket world, but with HP Tuners you can tell any sensor to show ready, no report. On a ecm test it will show the system is working but will not report errors. Of course you would only use this in a race car, off road situation. ;-)
