Matt have you ever considered playing around with a PSI 8.8L? It's a GevVII BBC like the 8.1 just bigger, with stronger parts, better heads, uses LS ecu, injectors, 4x cam, 58x crank, 90mm tb, same bolt pattern as an LS, they go for around $1500-2000 from intake to oil pan in pretty good shape used, maybe cheaper if you get a score, it sure would be neat to see what one could do run in the Slop method, 4.350" piston 4.5" stroke, 535ci, they came boosted from the factory for power generation equipment. I sure hope you can encounter one, someday that you can test without any guilt just so we can find out. It's interesting to see what something other than an LS that gas a lot if LS compatability can do.

I still want to try 706/862 heads and TBSS/NBS intake on an 6.0/6.2 short block, even if it won't make the peak hp on lower boost, I feel like it will spool like crazy and drive really sweet, efficient cruising and off boost even with a more radical cam than an 821/823 head engine can use without valve notching...it's still something Holdner won't test and hopefully I will see it tested by Matt one day. I suppose the main concern without dished or valve relief pistons would be compression and cylinder pressure, I figured with an electronic WG that tunes the boost to come in past peak Tq it should live alright, certainly on Ethanol. Just always felt like that would be the ticket for some of the more realistic heavy, taller geared, street heros. Eversince I saw how well 706/862 work on a 4.8/5.3 compared to 243/799, I always wondered how well the small heads would do on an 5.7/346, 6.0/6.2 n/a and with boost.I feel that the smaller heads and a good smaller turbo would be the ticket for the street with a manual.Maybe I am wrong but, I would like to see how it would work out compared to 243/799/821/823 in a 3500-4000# 3.46 axle T-56 car, namely my '04 GTO.

Hey Matt. Awesome short vid. I love the extra data. I have a before and after intercooler temp sensors as well, but with a gauge, not into the ecu. Had it before the terminator X I just put in. I wanna do your harness tho, and get the extra i/o box. I can't stress how important iat's are. On my other car, awd 92 talon, I was seeing 200+ iat's and the end of 1600ft roll race events. Put two 7gph meth nozzles on and the same runs were maxing at 90s iat. And that was only taking into effect one nozzle because the 2nd nozzle was past the last iat sensor, so it was most likely cooler than that. Anyways, now I'm rambling, keep em coming Matt!

You might want to watch richard holdener's videos on this subject. Meth fools the IAT sensor and reduces temps, but it is not evenly distributed between cylinders (unless you have true per cylinder injection) and therefore may do little or nothing to actually reduce detonation.

@@chipcurrey653 NO, Many of us have run meth for years with absolutely NO intercooler and zero issues. Saturating the sensor does give a false/lower temp reading, but only if you are saturating the sensor. Many of us spray pre turbo or Supercharger and the meth Flashpoint is met and you do not have much if any liquid in the system. 1 KZbin video of a huge/gargantuan vertical flow intercooler vs meth is not the end all/be all on the subject.

@chipcurrey653 Intresting, but I have real world experience that shows it works great! The computer was pulling zero timing and logged that it held peak boost and power threw the whole run. It works. And this was on boost juice.
@chipcurrey653
@chipcurrey653 12 сағат бұрын
@@LordMustangGT93 The computer pulls timing based on the IAT or MAT sensor correct? The IAT or MAT sensor is not in each cylinder. Watch his videos on cylinder to cylinder air fuel distribution. If I put a hot IAT sensor on a bench and spray it with water it will report a lower temperature, but that doesn't mean that fluid is making it in equal distribution to each cylinder.

I used a GM Pedal 22706224 which is for the Solstice/Sky/Cobalt. I chopped the bottom off and welded on the stock Fairmont pedal for a stock look. I had to add 1 stud to the firewall for mounting.
