This engine is probably the nicest best maintained coyote engine in the United States period. 2800+ crank hp with such reliability and well built. You have a one of a kind engine it shows when built right you can't beat a ford. Oh yeah with factory block crank and heads.

That motor and the car and driver’s performance at TX2K was legendary. Anyone who had any doubt about the Coyote platforms durability and performance are surely put to bed. Coyote > LS or SBC. Think the only rub on Coyotes are they can be a bit costly at times due to their increasing race car and motor swap popularity.

@@bigboreracing356 bro I’m a ford tech I work on ford diesel’s daily and have been in ford dealers and shops for over 8 years I’ve seen all the ford engines and ford really doesn’t care you should see what goes on day to day in the dealers what crap ford puts out not knocking the engine but if you can make that type of horsepower for cheaper and it’s more reliable why not like it what’s so wrong with LS and LT engine platforms I don’t think any thing cause the next thing everybody is going to be on is the 7.3 and that’s nothing but an ls but the oil pump design is stupid
@Cneal83
@Cneal83 Жыл бұрын
@@bigboreracing356 ok gotcha but how many people have a stock block 2500 horsepower 5.0? I have this conversation with a friend of mine cause he used to be a Chevy tech and he loves that 5.0 we have either a gen 2 or 3 just sitting in the shop cause it was knocking and he wants to build it to put in his mustang but it’s going to take at least 7 grand in cams bearings chains and lockout plates not to mention tuning and work not being included in that price that we would do guess it just comes down to what you want to do and put your time and effort into seems like it takes a lot more heartbreak and effort to make those things comparable to the cheap LS platform

Very interesting teardown and discussion, love the methodical and scientific approach to building and modifying this Coyote engine. The horsepower and torque numbers are far beyond what I thought was possible for this relatively small displacement DOHC V8. The fact that the engine is in such good condition after all the runs at this ridicules power level is a testament not only to the original design but the modifications, setup and tuning. The broken cam cap could have been a manufacturing defect since the others were fine. Great work, thanks for sharing this video.

I’ve not had no problems really either I’ve got a pretty solid program and I think it’s a testiment to your program and how good those engines really are. That’s pretty much what you have to do is go slow and have data everywhere and see what’s going on record it before it’s pushed but dammit man brava on keeping it together and running good awesome job guys.

Since the engine is tore down and you are upgrading some parts to make it stronger you should upgrade from the wire in the block and the receiver groove in the heads you should upgrade to the top fuel hoops so you know for a fact that the heads are completely sealed to the block and I would put billet main caps in it as well and maybe eventually go to an aftermarket block but if you don't have Darton sleeves in your current block I would do that as well and make your current block completely bullet proof and that way you know you always have a great back up engine for when you do build an engine with an aftermarket block and heads
