#3FULGear #Taiji2
Due to high winds on the hills I opted for a chilled out woodland camp in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in the 3F UL Gear Taiji 2 tent. It was a chance to get a first real world camp in what's becoming a really popular tent to rival competitors like the Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 and higher end tents like the Big Agnes Copper Spur. If you enjoyed my video please consider buying me a coffee at www.buymeacoff... Every little helps and thank you for your support!

I'm hoping to see you out in more challenging conditions to see what you really think about this tent with all your knowledge of other tents Andrew. How many tents do you think you owned and what was your absolute favourite and why?

Hi Gaz, I think am about 120 plus tents so far. For that reason it's hard to nail down one favourite. I put up a video on my top ten at the time on YT which gives some insight I hope ;-) Atb A

Good to see more of the Tai Ji tent thanks. Just got a Lanshan 1 recently. Not sure about the fire though. Looked like you were camped on a path but also looked like a dead end?

I thought why not use the part burned wood lying around for a quick camp fire and a chance to get rid of some of it :-)

Nice spot to set up a relaxing camp Andrew. Those midges know the bluebloods mate. I've used a narrow strip of silicone tape to mark spots on poles so maybe an idea to help you. Thanks for sharing your night out. Bushyboy Oz.

Great video A as per normal plus well done on the tidy up. I appreciate the weight is low but the pack size looks extraordinarily large. Would you agree.
@AndrewParkOutdoors
@AndrewParkOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, Not, its a bit deceptive as the bag opens at both ends when cinched giving it a large appearance. It's actually pretty compact, just my bag of spanner , throw it in the pack, style of prep!

On the midge issue Andrew - have you tried the urban legend that is Avon Skin so Soft? It is said that the SAS use it (no doubt a vicious rumour)

@andrew Looking at doing the coast to coast with my mate next year. can i get your thoughts on tents? I have the Cloud peak 2 and the opalus 2. Was thinking about something like the xenon 2 + for more porch space but not sure on weight and robustness of opalus 2 - lack of head room versus cloud peak 2 good height but limited vestibule etc. Noted you also tested the Xenon 2 and 2+ but also the Naturehike and £FUL gear. thoughts on 3ful for bad weather wind rain tents?
@AndrewParkOutdoors
@AndrewParkOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, if I had to choose personally out of them I'd use a xenon UL 2 , I hate carrying weight but with the xenon, you don't feel your missing out on space just because it's light. Should handle any weather the coast to coast throws at you too.

I'm thinking of buying this tent, just concerned about how rigid it would be in the wind. I'm used to a tunnel tent, but I want more head height. Did you pitch right across a path???
@AndrewParkOutdoors
@AndrewParkOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Pitched it across a wee dead end of a path ( thankfully ) . I've not tried it in high winds but to be honest I wouldn't take it out in them personally. It's guess work based on experience but it has large panels that I imagine will bend in in higher winds. A good roomy ' below the treeline' model for me and the wife.

I was away last weekend and the midges were out and about. Any breeze more than 4 or 5 mph and they hide away in the grass though. Tent looked okay Andrew but definitely not for summits.
