It is more fun to have a co-pilot in endeavors. To be solo is one thing, but you deserve a bit of holiday break. Thanks Craig for hanging in there.

Barry Harwood was signed to do a tour with Melanie. She had a couple of songs called "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)" and "Brand New Key". Barry had been signed to do her tour and couldn't join Skynyrd at the time.

Who else is up at 4:30 am just struggling , I think when you get old 🗝️🔐 the only thing left to do is just LOVE 💞 & LOVE MUSIC CRAIG ❤️ & Beware of the shit the Government dumps out on US , at our back doors . Because they truly don't give a shit . They are the true Mothers of invention and everything else in between , p.s. they invented some sort of machine in Raleigh that supposedly cleans the Air now ?

I wonder if there was ever a chance of Dave Hlubek joining Lynyrd Skynyrd in the early days before Ed King was in the band. The origins of Molly Hatchet go back to 1971 but they didn't release their first album until 1978. Great show Craig!

Allen hated Hlubek. plus assuming there were no plans to add a 3rd guitarist until Ed was awful at the bass. Leon came back and thats when Ronnie asked Ed to swifch to guitar.

Exactly right. Hated him is an understatement. Allen told me Dave was just a copycat rip off.

@@Cagey-1 I do remember Craig saying that Allen told him to ram Dave's car. That sounded like it was about 79 or 80 when that happened. I thought perhaps things were different in the early days. Thanks for the reply.

@@winslowredcross2835 Dave himself said things were "rocky" in the early days before any of them made it famous. Dave said once in an interview that they threw rocks at each other as school kids. The animosity was there even before the bands took shape. If you listen to Ronnie's song Jacksonville Kid recorded just days before he died in secret, Ronnie makes it clear that around Jacksonville was basically gang warfare between the members of the bands based on where in Jax they lived and what schools they went to. As they grew up and into their bands, the assaults went from throwing rocks at each other to pulling out the guitars and shooting each other down with them. Listen to Ronnie say "this is for the southside" or whatever other part of town he was aiming at. Local gangland warfare played out in music form. It was pure testosterone competition. Dave was a buddy of mine and he told me that Hatchet sat on the front porch going nowhere for 9 years. He said Ronnie and others tried to help them get a record contract, but no one would touch them as long as Skynyrd was out there. And the only reason Hatchet got a contract was because of the plane crash. And Molly Hatchet was always called the graverobber band because of it as fans lined the streets to jeer at them and paint hate hatchet signs on bedsheets and hang them up along the route to the Hatchet concert. The hate from Skynyrd was deep and obvious. So during those early shows Dave would play the opening bars to Sweet Home Alabama and the Skynyrd fans in the Hatchet crowd would go nuts and Dave would swagger over to a microphone and holler f*** you to the Skynyrd fans. It was war. This made Hatchet mean and angry. "Skynyrd says its a real sweet home but it ain't nothing to me." Lyrics on their first album as a f*** you to Skynyrd and other Southern bands. War. Skynyrd dies in plane crash in 1977 and Epic Records thought maybe Hatchet could clean up the Skynyrd scraps after the crash and gave Hatchet a recording contract only because Skynyrd died. Graverobber band now and forever. What happened in 1985 is another story for another time about their live album recorded on hometown stage.

Hey...doing a fine job on your own. It's fun to have someone bounce ideas and comments back at you, but you're doing fine. Don't compare yourself to others who do podcasts. Every body has something different to offer. at least you're not trying to do live streams I would think that would be harder to do...and so many things can go wrong doing LIVE.

Hey Craig...you really should invest in one of those vaporizer that cools the weed smoke way down better than a bong...I don't have one & never tried one, but some friends of mine uses one & swears it cut way down on the coughing...I been sticking with the edible CBD Oil...honey mint flavor is good...❤ Love & PEACE to you & all Stoned Roadie Nation...
