It's the extruded aluminium that I like. Great video mate. Everything I know about scrapping comes from watching youtube channels. I started my own scrapping channel myself so I'm always happy to support a fellow scrapper. Liked, subbed and 🔔

I do the same,I do go for silver contacts,ic chips and mlcc.my scrap yard doesn't buy boards so I scrap out boards to get something out of them and keep what I want.Aluminium capacitors in Australia is closed as domestic aluminum,so I get roughly 1,20 per kg.Extruded is 1.20.
@rixismetals3 ай бұрын
@@SamiJaaskelainen hi , nice to hear someone else scraps out there boards , my scrap yard in uk pays 0.70 for extruded and 0.40 for the aluminium capacitors, all the copper and aluminium I get of boards I keep and I have another KZbinr melt them into bars for me 😁

Good morning from Scotland .....could I ask you where you send your e-waste for refining cheers x
@rixismetals8 ай бұрын
Hi , I’m stockpiling at the moment the items that may contain various precious metals , there is a refiner near London that buy’s ewaste and any items that contain precious metals , they do a few different services they pay for items plus they do a service where they refine what you have then pay you for what was actually recovered from the items , I’ll be looking into that and speaking to them in the future and I’ll be making a video about what I find out ,plus after speaking to them I may send some stuff into them to be refined and do video on the refining outcome , I’ll have more in depth results on what items are actually worth collecting or even contain precious metals , hope that helps with your question
@espjason8 ай бұрын
Love too pick your brains and get advice on how to start doing this. How do you get the ewaste. I know you need the higher tier waste license and a weee licence which is expensive. Do you need a scrap dealer license as well.
@rixismetals8 ай бұрын
@@espjason I would say start of as a hobby before you think about looking into licensing well it depends on how you want to do it , if you want to got around looking for stuff on side of road or asking businesses about there scrap then you will definitely need a high tier waste carrying licence and a scrap metal license to start off with , but like I say start it off as hobby and tell friends and family the you’ll take there old and broken electrical / electronic items , then after a while once you set yourself up taking things apart then thing about escalating it up , hope that helps

Awesome brother I got new bench top today as well much bigger than my old one. One question how come you never filmed the fun bit ripping the boards down. Air chisel takes the effort out of it. Them tiny transformers smash with hammer and cut with snips right through the middle then the copper peels off quickly and easy. Awesome episode brother
@rixismetals9 ай бұрын
Hi bro , thanks , soon I will be doing more filming of the ripping apart , 1 was waiting till I had bit more room so I could get set up a bit better and have tools all set out easy to grab and don’t want to waist people’s time watching me fumble around finding different tools lol plus other thing is I’m still working me head around the video editing software lol 😁👍

When I’ve got my new workshop setup I’ll have couple work area set up , I’ll continue to manually strip things down as I enjoy it plus I’ll have and area set up with compressor so can use air chisel too for when I want to get through things a bit faster lol

I'm a bit late to this one buddy but really enjoyed it and all the detail involved. I love doing power boards as well. Full of goodies and i scrap all those little yellow tape transformers too. They can be crap but they can also be great. I don't mind unwrapping some tape for a copper reward 😊

Glad you enjoyed the video mate , boards are probably my most enjoyable thing to do out of all scrapping , got to say with the yellow tape transformers if I can see copper in ther I will do them but if all I can see is yellow tape and hard to see the copper I’ll throw them in the motors tub lol😁👍

Wow I'm surprised at those numbers too. Your low grade price is great at 50p/kg for over here. The components all looked so nice though 😂 It isnt worth me filling my car with low grade so I've got no choice to cherry pick but this was a great video, very informative!! 👍
@rixismetals5 ай бұрын
Hi Sollers , hope you are well xx, I can get £1.20/kg for mid grade boards , I have around 500kg left of mix of low and mid grade boards I don’t sell them as I like stripping them down 😂😂 I’ve not done much over last few weeks as been busy plus moving my shed and in process of getting it set up as my workshop , should be finished over the next few days and I can back to scrapping and videos , next group of videos is a mini series stripping 50kg of low grade boards and see what get off them then most of the components are going down to Empire Finds ( other KZbinr ) and he melting everything down into bars , the mini series is going to be called “ Boards to bars“ which I personally think is a funny name for a mini series , wow sorry this is a long reply , take care and if you not fell asleep reading this long reply I’ll catch you and your next video 👍😁

If I was going try just to improve the money payout that’s most likely the best way mate , I enjoys striping them down so for me it’s more the enjoyment then the value , the smaller items I’m stockpiling as when I have a decent amount going to send them to a refining company to recover all the precious metals, then I can say if worth stockpiling those 👍

The yard that buys board here don’t buy boards if they have been stripped 😕 I am in the process of doing a video that will be on here soon on doing 20kg of low grade boards where I remove some of the better item an increase the overall value and still be able to sell the boards

If someone is out just to make money then yes 100% sell the boards as they are if you have somewhere to sell them , not everyone has somewhere that buys them or maybe as shred then worth stripping to get the value out of them , I have somewhere where I can sell them but I strip them down instead because I love doing it , way I look at it watching tv you earn nothing so I rather spend that time stripping boards instead and do something I love doing , especially when I’m not lowering the value
