12.40 that's a transformer module and are situated behind ports etc. My yard won't evenbtake flyback transformers, I don't bother to take them off either but I've never seen one with a nice bit of copper down the outside, yummy! Palladium and sometimes even silver in old ceramic disc capacitors too, they are worth taking! Also, I love your gloves!

4:13 I have not been successful as of yet to break that transformer apart even when wailing on it with my 3lb mechanics hammer. My yard does give me motor price( a whopping 10 cents a pound). I also wanted to say that I check the transformers to see if the copper content is worth removing or not since I am fortunate to live about 4 hours away from Boardsort drop off location, it's quite an upgrade in price from transformer(.10 cent my yard) to low grade(.40 Boardsort). The low grade boards usually pays for my gas when I take a load over.

Those parts (like the Broadcom part) that have no pins are definitely ICs. Those are BGA package ICs and are used for high density IC's, CPUs, some memory, etc. Consider them "modern" surface mount ICs.

Boardsort doesn’t buy them as separate in their own category like other components. There’s so much information I could’ve talked about but I was trying to keep it simple for those of us that just want to sell stuff to Boardsort or scrapyards. But I do appreciate you sharing your knowledge and hopefully others will see and appreciate your comment as well. Thank you for watching.

Those are BGA ICs. They are chips and in some cases are worth much more than scrap value. (you have to look up the part number to confirm). Some can be worth thousands of dollars (but not in the case of this board).
