I don't understand the rules of this game. How could melissa have said play as a clue for play-do, and the judges not call that?

She didn't actually say "play." She said "clay" which rhymes, so it sounded similar to "play." It's easy for our ears to get confused on this show because we are often hearing multiple teammates speaking at the same time.

I don't always understand the producers' thought process when it comes to color-coding words. They made "ex-husband" red, yet that one looks easy to me. Then Gregg over-complicated it as if the color coding mesmerized him into thinking that it was more difficult than it really was. A 2-word clue should do. How hard is it to say "former spouse?" Unless your teammates are drunk, they should be able to say "ex-wife" & / or "ex-husband" quite quickly.
