This man right here literally got me into barefoot shoes three years ago. I truly can’t thank you enough, it really has changed my life for the better!
@Sia3882 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan. Could you please describe what have changed for the better? thanks.
@Drchweber2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know about Nathan, but I have made similar statements in the past. For me, before I got into barefoot shoes, I had back pain starting up at the age of 30, knee and hip pain and discomfort, and I was begin to notice that I was really unsteady going down stairs, feeling like I was about roll an ankle, clinging to the handrail. Been wearing barefoot shoes for 2-ish years and that’s all gone. I’ve even been able to rehabilitate an old injury to my big toe just by feeling out what needed to be stretched. The most significant improvement is in my balance. I no longer feel like an 80 year old man going up and down stairs.

Until recently, I was only wearing Vivos. But then I got my first Belenka pair and very quickly got another one (the trail shoes). They're made from amazing leather, have really good build quality and are hand made! The dudette who started the company is a former paralympian who couldn't find good shoes so she started making her own, what a badass.

At 10:24 the dirty shoes; I’m a mom who knows how to clean those. 1.) expensive but totally worth it option; a high quality steamer like McCullough MC1375. The concentrated brush attachment and maybe an old toothbrush. It will clean it right up. If you have a hard stain then a little dish soap or natural APC. The steamer is zero chemical and super sustainable. 2.) Bleach pen & Mr.Clean Magic Eraser. If you’re scared of the bleach try just the magic eraser and some dish soap.

I wear barefoot for around two years now. Also thanks to you. The „problem“ is that you can not go back to normal shoes. Now I got barefoot shoes for every occaison. Vivo is the brand I wear mostly. Feelgrounds really feel a bit cheap. I am very happy to see Be Lenka in the video. I really like to wear those too.

I bought a pair of Wildlings (Flying Fox) after you previously recommended the brand, they are fabulous! Mine are worn pretty much every day and still look like new. I get alot of people asking about them and where they can get them because they look so good. I have gone on to recommend them to a number of other people. Vivos are also good (I have a couple pairs) but I do find them a little pricey especially compared with Wildlings which are really well priced here in the UK.

Chase, this was the best video I've seen covering barefoot shoes, and I've seen dozens of vids. That intro was such a chill groove, and I was surprised at how much variety in brands and shoe types that you had on display. I love those knit shoes. The Wildling Nebulas look especially nice. I got the Xero HFS shoes a few days ago and they're pretty good. I wish I would've seen this video before getting them though, because I would've gotten a pair of Nebulas for sure. They look perfect for me. Oh well. At least now I have something to look forward to once these Xeros break on me.

“Wide foot…disorder.” 😂 Dude, I wish I had this channel back when I was trying to transition. I was reading Ken Bob Saxton stuff, and ended up buying a pair of Merrell Bare Access (gen 1). They were available locally, thanks to that silly barefoot running craze that happened back in the day. They were categorized as “barefoot” but had some padding and arch support. But they were zero drop and had a wider toe box than my other kicks at the time. I wore them everywhere, and ran in them in incrementally longer stretches. Eventually I was running in them exclusively, up to about 13.5 miles. I love my Merrell Vapor Gloves for jump rope and running, but also just recovery walks because they’re so flexible. I love my Shamma sandals in warm weather. I have a couple pair of Xero boots for casual cold weather and snow. Love those. The Hannas are great. I lace them loosely and treat them as slip-ons. Rarely wear them with socks. Love the video. I wanna try Wildlings so bad now! Thanks!

Any suggestions for a business casual barefoot shoe? Brown-leather looking kind of thing? For example, I used to wear the Xero "alston" model, but they've been discontinued.. although you can still find images online (brown, a strap around the sides, and virtually no sole!). Their newer shoes, like the Glenn Casual Leather models, seem to have rather thick soles by comparison. I found some other shoes that look promising, but they're only available in Europe (ahinsa Ananda Light Brown, Groundies Palermo Barefoot+).. other similar looking shoes are also discontinued (Vivobarefoot RA II 8996426 , WHITIN Extra Wide Minimalist Barefoot Zero Drop Sole shoes). Any thoughts on the Saguaro Noble II or the tadeevo Derby Light Brown Minimilist shoes? Be Lenka Cityscape - Salted Caramel Brown? Realfoot City Jungle Light Brown? Even Temu has $50 'Barefoot Wide Fit Zero Drop Minimalist" shoes with brands I've never heard of.. HOBIBEAR, Fashion, etc.

I switched to barefoot about 2 yrs ago. Now it's all I wear. Any females out there have a good suggestion for a dress shoe (as in to wear with skirts and dresses)? My bearfoot experience as a female with a tiny foot (size 5 womens) and high arches: Vivo knit lux - first pair of barefoots. These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Love them so much. Vivo gobi hi iv -amazingly comfortable but slightly resembles a wrestling shoe. LoL there was a breaking in period on these due to the stiff heel. Xero prio - comfortable, but feels too wide in the midfoot and heel. Whereas Vivo only feels wide in the toebox. Xero basic sandals - keeps glass out of my foot ;)

Groundies have a ballerina type shoe, that looks quite allright. Haven't worn them yet though and I think I might have bought them one size too big. It comes at least in navy, cognac and I think one other color, each with a white sole. So they are still pretty casual, but can be dressed up imo

The BeLenka Champs are honestly my fave casual wear shoes. They sorta give off Air Force 1 vibes, which is why I got 'em. From the top they're definitey clown shoes, but any time you view them from an angle (i.e. everyone else), they look fine. There's definitely an art to styling high-tops, but there's also an art to not giving a fuck. Also own the Lems Chillum in blue, but noticed myself not really vibing with them. Like you touched on, the sole is a lot thicker than a lot of the other shoes (great for boots/cold protection, but feels so weird when you're used to 3-4mm soles). And the style is just not for me. Love the Boulder Boots though. For anyone ordering from BeLenka: I can heartily recommend their socks,

Thank you Chase Reeves for the amazing video. I'm in the UK but good quality barefoot shoes have been difficult to source (shoes that are comfortable, well made and ventilated). I've been enjoying having a few different pairs of Vivo Barefoots. They have been great to train my feet but lately I've been wanting more variety and some shoes that feel more like shoes. I love Vivo Barefoot but it sometimes feels like it's the casual footwear of Bruce Wayne pottering around the Batcave in his downtime (kind of like flashy outwear). I stumbled across your video and was really happy. I've added a lot of these to my wish list and look forward to finding some Lem's and Origos.
